Center for Healthy Aging holds support groups

HARTFORD — Hartford HealthCare’s Center for Healthy Aging offers a variety of support groups for caregivers of people with dementia and others. The center is a nonprofit member of Hartford HealthCare Senior Services. Each of the 13 resource and assessment centers are designed to enhance access to services and informatio­n related to attaining optimal quality of life for seniors and their caregivers.

Virtual Dementia Caregiver Support Group meets on the first Tuesday of the month starting Feb. 1, 10-11 a.m. Facilitate­d by Michelle Wyman, LSW, CDP, dementia specialist, Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging. After registrati­on, participan­ts will receive an email with easy instructio­ns on joining the virtual class.

Call-In Support Group: Talk to a profession­al about the question and or concerns you may have regarding dementia, every Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. starting Feb. 4, facilitate­d by Kristine Johnson, dementia specialist, Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging. ⏩ Virtual Memory Café: A welcoming place for people with memory loss, mild cognitive impairment, and early dementia and their families and friends; socialize with others who have a shared experience. The virtual class is facilitate­d by a Dementia Specialist, Hartford HealthCare Center for Healthy Aging on the first Monday of the month, Feb. 7 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. excluding holidays.
