School board kicks off superintendent search
NEW MILFORD — The town's education board has initiated the process for finding a new school superintendent.
The new superintendent would replace interim superintendent JeanAnn Paddfote, who is serving in that role now.
To fill this role, board chairman Wendy Faulenbach said the education board has established a Superintendent Search
Committee. .
Faulenbach said the district has hired and engaged consultants Mary Broderick and Jack Reynolds from CABE (Connecticut Association of Boards of Education) Executive Search Services to be part of the district's support team.
At a recent education board meeting, the board outlined its calendar to identify the stakeholders and timeframe for candidates.
Over the next few weeks, Faulenbach said Broderick and Reynolds will be conducting interviews, focus groups and a survey welcoming feedback from every school member and community member.
The survey will be used to create the district's leadership profile and hold the district's perspectives, and will later be delivered to the education board.
“We expect the board to conclude their search in late fall and hopefully for
a prospective start date of a new superintendent in early February,” Faulenbach said.
“The consultants are going to walk us through it,” Faulenbach said of the search process. “The board is committed to this process and hearing from our community and looking forward to selecting a new leader of the district. We know it's a serious charge, we take it seriously and we're certainly committed
to the task, and I think everyone else involved will be the same.”
In July, the education board voted to appoint former New Milford Superintendent JeanAnn Paddyfote as interim superintendent on, replacing former superintendent Alisha DiCorpo
Faulenbach said New Milford Public Schools has engaged Paddyfote as the district’s interim superintendent until some time around the end of February and the beginning of March.
