Opioid crisis expert to speak at NCCC
WINSTED — Northwestern CT Community College will present Robert Stutman, one of the nation’s leading experts on the opioid crisis, at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 in the Founders Hall Auditorium, 4 Park Place, Winsted.
The event is supported through the Connecticut Healthy Campuses Initiative grant and is open to the public. Admission is free.
Stutman spent 25 years as a Drug Enforcement Agency Special Agent and was head of the New York DEA office. He has been featured as a drug consultant for several major news networks, motion pictures, and former presidents. His published autobiography, Dead on Delivery, was the basis for a television movie entitled Mob Justice. Stutman attended John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and has traveled with the DEA to 73 countries, according to NCCC>
Stutman speaks to many medical professionals throughout the year and has been named Outstanding Speaker of the Year by many medical associations. In addition, Stutman speaks to parents and students and works with communities throughout the country bringing to the forefront the best research and knowledge available to empower and protect children and communities from one of the greatest health crisis’ in the country today.
He has been selected to be the featured speaker for the Drug Enforcement Administration Educational Foundation, the charitable organization of the DEA, educating the public about the consequences of drug abuse in our society.
