Accused fentanyl dealer faces 10 years after plea
NORWALK — A local man charged with narcotics and firerarms offenses pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer in New Haven Monday, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Connecticut.
Gregory T. Willis, also known as “G Money,” “G” and “Greg Jamison,” 40, is scheduled to be sentenced on April 10, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
“Under the terms of a binding plea agreement, if accepted by the court, the parties have agreed that 10 years of imprisonment is a reasonable sentence in this case,” the office said.
In summer 2020, members of the FBI’s Bridgeport Safe Streets Task Force and Norwalk Police Department made multiple controlled purchases of fentanyl from Willis, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. Later that year, on Sept. 23, 2020, investigators seized approximately 60 grams of fentanyl, narcotics paraphernalia, four handguns and numerous rounds of ammunition during a court-authorized search of a Norwalk home linked to Willis, the office said.
That same day, Willis was located in the city, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. He discarded a loaded handgun as he attempted to flee but was apprehended, the office said.
Wills has been detained since his arrest, according to the U.S. attorney’s office. He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense.
Willis was previously convicted in federal court of distributing crack cocaine in 2003, the U.S. attorney’s office said. He was sentenced to nine years in prison for that offense.
