TORRINGTON — The fifth annual A Tasteful Event is coming to Five Points Arts Center, University Drive, from 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The fundraiser, which benefits Friends in Service to Humanity of Northwest Connecticut, or FISH, recognizes the agency’s efforts to feed and house residents, for more than 50 years, according to a statement.

Area restaurants, caterers, bakers, chocolatiers, spirit distillers and ice cream makers have volunteered to provide food for the event. Music will be provided by Jacque Williams Entertainment.

Guests can participate in a silent auction featuring gift baskets, jewelry and watches, a variety of wines, picnic fare, a dinner delivered to your home, an overnight escape, ski passes, a fitness membership, a laptop computer and numerous gift certificates.

Celebrity “Food Tasting” judges are Julia

Scharnberg, Nancy Strini, Matthew Daly and Jack Sheedy, who will award trophies to the event’s food providers for best savory and best sweet treats, favorite distiller and event newcomer, and for best in show presentation/display.
