Joanne Thompson Pease was born June 8th, 1953 to Thomas Alexander Thompson and Marie Peltier Thompson. Predeceased by her beloved Bart, she is survived by her only son, Thomas Hoyt Pease, his wife Abigail Kathryn Pease, her three grandchildren, Azariah Hoyt Pease, Eliza Virginia Pease and Theodore Emerson Pease, her aunt Janet Sharpe, her brothers Zandy, Mike and Scott Thompson and their wives Linda, Jean and Angela and their children. She had an extensive education attaining a BA from Marywood College, a Masters in Library Science from SCSU, as well as taking post graduate courses in photography at University of Hartford. She was an accomplished artist skilled in expressing herself in a multitude of mediums, such as photography, watercolor, illustration, print making, and handthrown pottery, even having starting her own business entitled “Pumpkin Pottery.” She was passionate about cooking as well, and had an extensive knowledge of techniques as well as various types of cooking equipment. Anyone who knew her knew that not only was she incredibly talented, but that she also had an incredible sense of humor. As a young adult she began a difficult lifelong journey battling against mental illness, which she faced every day bravely. In spite of this struggle, her passion for life was unquenchable, and she lived it for all it was worth. There is not enough words or space to properly express or sum up the preciousness of her life. Through her battle with cancer she was surrounded and embraced fiercely with love from family and friends including her nieces Shawna and Carly, her friends Cindy Bazzano and Mary Klanesky Ball, and her sisters-in-law Angela, Linda and Jean. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a loving aunt to nieces and nephews, and a friend. She loved deeply, lived heartily, felt deeply, expressed richly and had faith in the Lord. A few parting pieces of wisdom inspired by her: be kind to one another; don’t let go when hugging someone until they begin to let go first; pay attention to the beauty of life and the world around you; never forget proper etiquette; listen to and validate others; never forget that love comes first.
