WORK SESSION
When: 5:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 20 What: Springfield city councilors will interview two applicants applying to serve on the city’s Community Development Advisory Committee. Then employees from Lane County will present councilors an update on a proposed waste processing facility next to the Short Mountain Landfill.
REGULAR MEETING
When: 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 20 What: Springfield city councilors will hold public hearings on three proposed annexations: the distribution center of Attune Foods on High Banks Road, a lot bordering Thurston Middle School where the Springfield Utility Board wants to build a drinking water treatment and distribution facility, and a home and portion of road on Kintzley Avenue.
Next councilors will respond to a letter from Sanipac garbage services opposing the proposed Short Mountain Landfill waste processing facility, saying it would increase rates.
Then they will vote to decouple the Springfield urban plan from the current combined Eugene-Springfield plan, which would let Springfield set “goals and policies (that) will guide Springfield’s growth and development” separate from Eugene.
Next councilors will vote on four code amendments: one to establish stricter standards for storm water collection post-construction, one to remove parking minimums, one for “minor code amendments” and one to correct the city’s fire code.
