Samuel Aguirre IV

-

EUGENE - Samuel Aguirre IV was born on January 9, 1997, in Eugene, Oregon, the only son of JuNanne Aguirre, and Samuel Aguirre III. He passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 27. Samuel’s death has been felt immensely by everyone around him, as he was a bright light in the lives of all he encountered. He was an attentive and devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. Samuel’s two sisters describe him as “an amazing person who constantly spread joy and happiness everywhere he went.” His laugh and smile were contagious and genuine, and already, they are missed.

From kindergarten through eighth grade, Samuel attended Prairie Mountain School, and graduated from Willamette High School in 2015. Samuel was an incredibly talented athlete. Samuel played both offense (running back) and defense (linebacker) for his high school football team, and he was identified by the Register Guard as a player to watch during his senior year. In addition, he was number one in rushing yards through all Oregon 5A schools as a sophomore (with 861 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns) and a junior (with 847 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns), participated in the 2013 Prep Football All American Invitational Combine in Los Angeles, and was scouted by several colleges for his undeniable talent. More than anything, though, Samuel exuded enthusiasm and team spirit that brought a wide variety of people together. Samuel created lasting friendships with many of his classmates and teammates that they cherished right up until his passing.

In addition to his love for sports, Samuel enjoyed anime, movies, games, and food. Samuel and his friends gathered weekly to play Dungeons and Dragons, and they would often spend long nights playing video games together. He loved Hot Mama’s wings and making hot pot at home. He also had a passion for high-end and exclusive fashion.

Samuel is survived by his older sister Brandy Aguirre-Nassar, her husband, Austin Nassar, and their daughter, Nia Nassar. He is also survived by his younger sister Jennifer Johnson, her husband Jaden Johnson, and their son, Porter Johnson. Samuel was preceded in death by his mother, JuNanne Aguirre, and his father, Samuel Aguirre III.

Samuel is remembered by everyone who knew him as a loving and thoughtful soul who was truly one of a kind. A service to honor Samuel’s memory will be held on February 3rd, 2024 at Willamette High School in the Power’s Auditorium at 3pm. The family kindly requests that any memorial contributions be sent to his sisters. Please join us in solemn remembrance as we bid farewell to Samuel Aguirre IV. His absence will be felt deeply and forever. May his soul find eternal peace.
