Anthony Toro, 76, of Lansdale went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Abington Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Catherine M. Toro for 26 years.

Born July 11, 1937, Anthony was one of twelve children to the late Louis and Mary (Stonebach) Toro. Mary was a founding member of Calvary Baptist Church of Lansdale.

Anthony attended Lansdale High School then went on to proudly serve his country in the US Navy. He was extremely patriotic and proud that his son, Tony, followed in his footsteps, now a retired Master Gunnery Sgt. in the US Marine Corps. He worked for 33 years at Rorer Pharmaceut­ical, Ft. Washington, and later at Montgomery County Community College for 10 years. He enjoyed his work and cultivated endless friendship­s. Anthony will be remembered for his morning cups of coffee and conversati­ons, his love of people and willing- ness to help anyone. He was a very hard worker and an all-around handyman. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfathe­r.

In addition to his wife, Anthony leaves behind four children, Anthony C. Toro and his wife, Laura, of Tucson, AZ, Vicki T. Sickels and her husband, Peter, of Oceanside, CA, John J. Toro of Lansdale, Matthew Toro and his wife, Gina, of Lansdale; five grandchild­ren, Taylor, Tony, John Austin, Michael, Leah; two great grandchild­ren, Jack, and Ryder; four siblings, Elsie Bosico of Hatfield, Edith DiDomizio of McAllister­ville, Louis Toro of Telford, and Marlene Cambell of Langhorne.

Anthony is preceded in death by eight siblings, Charles, Dorothy, Helen, Anita, Elizabeth, Patricia, and twin brother, James.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family, 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, and again 9-10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at Valley View Bible Church, 315 Barndt Rd., Telford, where the Funeral Service will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, East Norriton.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Anthony’s memory to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.

GLORIA DAWN BARBER

Gloria Dawn man) Barber, passed aw a y peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Meadowood Community in Worcester, PA, with her family by her side. She was 86. Mrs. Barber was a retired Registered Nurse and a “Profession­al Household Engineer” who resided in King of Prussia for the past 58 years.

Gloria was a former Girl Scout, Cub Scout Den Mother, former member of the Pennsylvan­ia Eastern Star, served as a Republican Committee Woman in Upper Merion, and volunteere­d and served on the Board of Neighborho­od Meals on Wheels located at Valley Forge Presbyteri­an Church. She was a member of the Valley Forge Presbyteri­an Church and loved to perform in the church Bell Choir. She was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and of the Pennsylvan­ia Hospital School of Nursing. Her interests were fishing with family and friends along the beaches of Kitty Hawk, NC, knitting, counted cross stitch, card games, seafood especially mussels from Chic’s of Bridgeport, foot-

(Hart- ball, ice hockey, gardening, fireworks, reading, and the raising and dedicated caring for the numerous dogs, cats and birds she had as pets throughout her lifetime. She relished in spending time with family, her grandchild­ren, greatgrand­children, neighbors and friends.

Gloria was born in Pottsville, PA at dawn on February 6, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Earle B. and Mary C. (Bittle) Hartman, and her stepmother, Audrey M. Hartman. She was the wife of the late Justus C. Barber, who was a wellknown, long-time member of the Upper Merion Township Zoning Board and additional­ly served a term as Upper Merion Township Supervisor.

Surviving is her loving family including her two sons, Charles J. of King of Prussia, PA and Thomas E. and his wife, Judy, of Harleysvil­le, PA; her daughter, Cynthia L. of Palm, PA; six grandchild­ren: Stephanie, Audrey, Crystal, Kelly, Douglas and Scott; six great-grandchild­ren; a niece, Mary Hartman; two nephews, Stephen and Michael Barber; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Barber. Gloria was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph R. Hartman.

Gloria’s Life Celebratio­n Service will be held at Valley Forge Presbyteri­an Church, 191 Town Center Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 10 to 10:50 am, at the church.

JAMES DANEKER

James Daneker, 77 of Lansdale, passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 in Abington Health, Lansdale. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late William and Clara Daneker.

He was a devoted husband and father, and he is survived by his wife Gloria (Piscelli) of 51 years; daughter Barbara, sons; James (Bonnie), Michael (Nanci), Brian (Jeanne), Wayne (Lori), Matthew (Jennifer), and Todd; 15 grandchild­ren; 3 great-grandchild­ren and his brother Robert.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Lorettann Fix, granddaugh­ter Jenna, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Jim lived his entire life in Lansdale with the exception of the 5 year career as a US Marine from 1955-1960. He honored the code “Once a Marine, always a Marine”, and he attended the yearly 2nd Marine Division birthday ceremony in Camp Lejeune, NC. He retired from BAE Systems (formerly AEL and TRACOR) as Director of Security in 1999, after nearly 35 years. He served his community for 16 years as a Borough Councilman. He was an avid sports fan; he umpired and coached Lansdale Little League for several years. He also enjoyed his monthly poker night with his friends.
