Week of June 7 EARLY BIRD WALK AT NORRISTOWN FARM PARK

Sunday June 7: Come on an “Early Bird Walk” at Norristown Farm Park at 8 a.m. to look for birds that are breeding in the park. Flycatcher­s, vireos, and warblers are likely to be seen. Bring binoculars if possible. This free public program is suitable for adults and children ages seven and up. Preregistr­ation is required. HISTORICAL GARDENING PRESENTATI­ON

Wednesday, June 10: The Historical Society of Trappe, Collegevil­le, Perkiomen Valley and The Speaker’s House, co-sponsors, invite you to a covered dish supper and an opportunit­y to learn about gardening during the time of the Muhlenberg family. Lisa Minardi, executive director of The Speaker’s House, will present her findings on this subject, followed by a book signing of her publicatio­ns. Learn about traditiona­l garden layouts, building fences and

raised beds, and the heirloom plants that were used in the 1700s. A light dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Please bring a favorite dish to share and meet new history and gardening friends. The presentati­on will begin at 7 p.m., and dessert will be provided afterward. The event will be held at St. Luke’s Church, 200 W. Main Street in Trappe. ROLLING THUNDER’S DAY WITH A VET

Saturday, June 13: Rolling Thunder Chapter 1 PA will host a “Day With A Vet” benefit event motorcycle run and picnic Saturday,

The police-escorted motorcycle run will start at Lowes Improvemen­t in Oaks, 8:30-11:30 a.m. (kickstands up at 11:30 a.m. sharp) and end at Coatesvill­e Veterans Hospital for a picnic with the vets. The police escort route runs through Norristown and Conshohock­en to the Route 30 Bypass (Coatesvill­e/ Downingtow­n) and Route 30 Business.
