Stella F. Kraynak of Lansdale

Stella F. Kraynak, age 89, of Lansdale died on June 5, 2015 at her residence. Born in Freeland, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Caroline Sienko Zarzeka and has lived in Lansdale since 1959.

Mrs. Kraynak was a longtime member of Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lansdale and was the wellknown matriarch of the local Kraynak family. Mrs. Kraynak raised 8 children across the decades of the 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s and helped to develop our community over those years through her active participation in both school and parish life.

She contributed her time and talent as a Team Leader in the community HOPE Program helping those in need and helping for many years in community fundraising efforts through Bingo and Penny Auction events. Also during that time, Mrs. Kraynak worked in the family business North Penn Art that she and her husband had started, handling the company’s accounting needs as well as serving retail customers.

She was a government civil servant during World War II working for the U.S. Navy Administration in Bethlehem as a secretary following her graduation from Weatherly High School with academic Honors.

In addition to being a devoted mother, Mrs. Kraynak enjoyed an active social life and was proud of her immigrant parents and PolishAmerican heritage.

Wife of the late Joseph Kray nak, Mrs.Kraynak is survived by her children, sons Joseph C. Kraynak, MD and his wife Constance of Hatfield, Paul R. Kraynak and his wife Michele of Lansdale, John P. Kraynak and his wife Karen of Myersville, MD, Peter T. Kraynak and his wife Anna of Lansdale and daughters Carol K. Albrecht and her husband James, MD of Lansdale, Elizabeth M. Kotulka of Lansdale, Bonita K. Handerhan and her husband John of Lansdale and Rosemary Folkes and her husband Daniel of Lansdale. All of Stella’s children attended Lansdale Catholic High School and went on to live in Lansdale with their children. Also surviving are 36 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and brothers Frank Zarzeka of Exton, PA, Anthony Zarzeka of Quakertown, PA, and sisters Helen Dabravalski of Summit Hill, PA, Josephine Jupina of Lansdale, PA.

She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Zarzeka.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Thursday, June 11 at 10:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446 where the family will hold a viewing from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM.

Interment St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
