Charles (Bub) E. McCoy, Jr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2015. He was 90 years of age. Born in North Wales, PA, he was the beloved son Charles E. and Margaret McCoy. Charles had lived in Sarasota, FL for the last 25 years and was formerly a longtime resident of Lansdale. Charlie was the loving companion of Doris George.

Charles was a retired electricia­n. He was a former employee at Publix Food Store in Sarasota.

Mr. McCoy was a World War II combat veteran, serving with the 6th Marine Division in the Pacific. He participat­ed in the surrender of Japanese Military Forces in Tsingtao, China. Charles was a life member of VFW Post 5308 in Telford and American Legion William E Hare Post 206 in Lansdale.

Charles was a life member of the Fairmont Fire Company in Lansdale. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge 608 in Sarasota. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed the outdoors and auto racing.

Charles was the beloved husband of Pearl Daneker McCoy for 32 years before her death in 1979. He was the devoted father of Sharyn Sock of Lansdale, Cathy McCoy-Morgan (Larry) of Hatfield ,Carol McCoy of Hatfield, Patti Brey (the late Steven) of Schwenksvi­lle, Charles E. McCoy III (Debra) of Harleysvil­le and Jeffrey McCoy (Jody) of Swedesboro, NJ. He is also survived by 10 grandchild­ren, and 16 great grandchild­ren and 2 great great grandchild­ren.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday June 13, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St. Lansdale, PA 19446. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. His inurnment will follow in Trinity Cemetery in Telford.
