Repair shop owner charged with stiffing parts supplier
Harry Todd Sellinger, 48, allegedly wrote two bad checks, failed to make good on payment
A 48-yearold Levittown man who owns a Morrisville auto re- pair shop is facing criminal charges for allegedly writing two bad checks to a Hatfield Township auto parts supplier in September and then dodging several attempts by the business to get him to pay up.
Harry Todd Sellinger, of the first block of Crown Road, was arraigned Jan. 26 before Lansdale District Judge Edward Levine on two counts of second-degree misdemeanor bad checks.
Hatfield detectives said that on Sept. 1, a driver for Bergey’s Wholesale Parts made a delivery to Sellinger’s shop TJ’s Elite Automotive, and Sellinger handed over two checks totaling $1,470.18 as payment for the items received.
However, according to court documents, the two checks were returned for non-sufficient funds, and Sellinger allegedly failed to respond to a certified let- ter from Bergey’s requesting payment, as well as repeated failed attempts by a Bergey’s driver to get payment from Sellinger at his shop.
Detectives spoke to Sellinger in December and asked about his intentions regarding the payment, and he allegedly said he was in the process of providing Bergey’s with the money, documents indicate, but because he still hadn’t done so by mid-January, a criminal complaint was filed against him.
After his arraignment, Sellinger was released on his own recognizance while awaiting a Feb. 4 preliminary hearing on the charges.
