Elizabeth M. Power of Willow Grove

Mrs. Elizabeth M. Power of Willow Grove died peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2016, at St. Mary Center in Lansdale, Pa. She was 84.

Betty was born in Philadelphia and graduated from Rosemont College. She was an elementary-school teacher before marrying her beloved husband, Bill, an electrical engineer, in 1957. After raising her family, Betty worked in customer service at Montgomery Mall.

A woman of faith and service, Betty and her husband were volunteers at St. David Parish in Willow Grove. She was a dedicated CCD teacher. She supported all her children’s activities, including the Upper Moreland H.S. Marching Unit in the 1970s.

She adored her eight grandchildren and a greatgrandchild.

Betty is survived by her husband, William A. Power Jr.; their children and spouses, Maureen Herndon and Ed, William A. Power III and Julie, and David Power and Anne; grandchildren Jennifer Schneider, Edward Herndon, Kate Power, David Power, Christina Herndon, Emily Power, Reilly Power and Hannah Power; and a great-grandchild, Logan Schneider.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 11 a.m., St. David Church, Willow Grove, Pa. Internment, St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, Pa.

Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the March for Life Education & Defense Fund (marchforlife.org) or to the Sunshine Foundation.
