The Orange Crush is hitting the North Penn School District.
With kicker Brandon McManus — a 2009 North Penn High School graduate — and the Denver Broncos reaching Super Bowl 50, NPSD will be holding a “Brandon McManus Day” on Feb. 5.
Along with that North Penn High’s Student Government Association is selling orange McManus t-shirt jerseys, which can be purchased online at http://northpenn.ticketleap.com/mcmanus/ with orders due by 2 p.m. Friday. Sizes youth medium to adult XL are $12 while 2XL-4XL are $15.
McManus and the Broncos face the NFC champion Carolina Pan-
thers in Super Bowl 50 Sunday, Feb. 7 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
The first North Penn grad to play in a Super Bowl, McManus — who play in college at Temple
University — hit both of his field goals and attempt and was 2-for-2 on extra points as the Broncos defeated the New England Patriots 20-18 Sunday in the AFC Championship. He knocked in a 52-yard field goal with 33 seconds left in the second quarter to put Denver up 17-9 while his 31-yard field goal with 10:02 that
put the Broncos up 20-12 proved to being the game’s winning points.
For the season, McManus went 30-of-35 on field goals and 35-of-36 on extra points. He was 5-of-8 on field goals from 50-plus, including a season-long of 57 yards in Denver’s Week 1 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
