Rakowsky, Bucks edge Souderton

Central Bucks West squeezed just enough offense out of a tough fourth quar ter, as the Bucks pushed past Souderton Area 33-31 in a Suburban One League Continenta­l Conference game Wednesday night.

Maggie Rakowsky scored 12 points to lead West while Megan Walbrandt had 10 points for Big Red. CB West 33, Souderton 31

DOCK 51, MAST CHARTER 20 >> Freshman forward Nicole Ford and sophomore point guard Carsyn McClosky each got their first starts of the season Wednesday night for the Pioneers, contributi­ng to the victory.

Dock played a man defense more than it had in the previous 17 games, and junior Gintare Tamulyte hit four of five long-range threes on her way to a game high 14 points for the Pioneers in the Bicentenni­al Athletic League clash.

With 10 different players scoring, Dock (11-7, 7-6 BAL) spread the ball sharply around the MaST Charter (2-16, 1-11) 2-3 zone defense.

With junior center Megan Swintosky snatching 11 rebounds, Ford grabbing five and freshman center Kate Strickland adding another five, Dock limited the Panthers to single longrange shots in pulling away to the win.

GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 59, HAVERFORD SCHOOL 41 >> The Patriots broke the game open in the third quarter and got a gamehigh 26 points from senior Devon Goodman Wednesday night.

GA improved to 16-5 overall, including a 5-1 mark in the Inter-AC. GA 59, Haverford School 41

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 62, SOUDERTON AREA 47 >> Tracey Simsick’s 14 points were a team high for Big Red on Wednesday.

Souderton also got eight points from Austin Eberhart in the non-league loss.

BOYERTOWN 63, METHACTON 60 >> Stephan Savage led the way for the Warriors with 19 points, while Crandall Jones chipped in with 11.

Next up for Methacton is a PAC 10 game at Owen J. Roberts on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Boyertown 63, Methacton 60

ROXBOROUGH 68, DOCK 57 >> The Pioneers struggled to contain Roxborough’s quickness early on, with the Indian backcourt proving too quick off the dribble for Dock to defend man to man.

Offensivel­y, the Pioneers were able to get whatever shot they wanted out of their offense, but were simply unable to convert.

Despite a rough start, Dock was within 14-9 after one quarter, and then the Pioneers switched to their zone defense in the second, in hopes to slow down the Indian attack.

Justin Burk holder chipped in 10 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter, helping Dock cut the lead down to as little as five with three minutes left in regulation, but late foul trouble landed the Indians in the bonus, and Roxborough made free throws down the stretch to put the game away. BRISTOL 61, CHRISTOPHE­R DOCK 53 >> The Pioneers came out aggressive against a fast Warrior squad Tuesday night, able to force four turnovers in the first quarter, all of which led to scores.

Junior Justin Burkholder started off another great shooting night, with two of his game-high four 3-pointers in the opening period.

While the Pioneers repeatedly went one for two from the line, Bristol was able to connect on its field goals and free throws in crunch time.

NORTHPENN4, NORRISTOWN 0 >> Dylan Bailey-Smith rolled a 639 series to lead the Knights Wednesday afternoon.

METHACTON 69, POPE JOHN PAUL II 9 >> Pins by William Donovan at 113 pounds and William Rebert at 120 put the Warriors on their way Wednesday evening.

Methacton lost at 182 and 195 but took every match the rest of the way in the Pioneer Athletic Conference battle.

Girls Swimming

WISSAHICKO­N 85, SPRINGFIEL­D-MONTCO84>> The Trojans came from behind in a thriller, with Maya Jog and Christina Tsiabikas swimming season bests in the backstroke to help Wiss pull ahead.

The Trojans placed first in seven of 11 events, with Amanda Zlotnikoff, Carly Zlotnikoff, Kelly Wild, Lili Xu, and Keara Monaghan all racing to victories.

A manda Z lotnikof f ’s District One considerat­ion time in the 100 backstroke dropped to a 1:02.51. Taylor Radell had a personal best time in the 500 free by four seconds for the Trojans.
