Boys Volleyball

DOCK 3, HAVERFORD 2 >> The Pioneers survived a five-set battle on Tuesday night.

Dock won 25-23, 22-25, 26-28, 25-17 and 15-13 in a thriller.

Defensivel­y, Dock was led by sophomore Libero Connor Derstine with nine digs, Jeremy Yoder with 12 digs and Jaden Hunsberger with 13 digs. Offensivel­y Jason Landis led the team’s hitting percentage hitting and incredible 90 percent with 9 kills on 10 attempts. Lincoln Bergey led the team in kills with 22.

From the service line Jaden Hunsberger came up with seven aces, Lincoln Bergey added four. Dock’s record is 1-0 overall, 1-0 in League play. They have a busy week ahead with matches Wednesday, home opener against William Tennent, Thursday away against Glen Mills and Friday home against Lansdale Catholic.

PJP scored in the first inning on a single by Hope Robinson, a single by Grace Harvey, and a walk by Ashley Remington followed by a Robinson single.

The Panthers broke it open in the fourth with four more runs, with Remington striking out three in the victory.
