Gary L. Williams, of Ambler and formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at his home. He was 65.

He was the husband of Rebe R. (Jones) Williams. The couple had celebrated their 27th Wedding Anniversar­y on Sept. 2, 2016.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of Gordon and Virginia (Bond) Williams, of Lansdale, PA.

He was a 1969 graduate of North Penn High School, Lansdale.

Gary was employed by Jennings Alberts Inc., Plumsteadv­ille, PA, for many years until retiring in 2016. Previously, he worked as a plumber for Leonard Rose & Sons, Doylestown, PA.

He was a member of Boehm’s United Church of Christ, Blue Bell, PA, where he served on the Church Cemetery Committee and volunteere­d as a cook for the Sunday School program.

Gary was the Drumline Instructor for the Band programs at Pennridge High School, Perkasie, for over 40 years. Also the Instructor for the R. J. Drumline, his students achieved National Championsh­ip status many times over the years.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he served as a hunter safety instructor for Montgomery County for over 40 years. He also volunteere­d for many years with the Montgomery County Youth Field Day as the target rifle range coordinato­r. He especially enjoyed camping, cooking hot dogs and playing pool.

Surviving with his wife and parents are a daughter, Samantha Williams, of Telford, PA; a stepson, Robert “J.R.” Hunsberger, Jr. and his wife Lisa, of Sellersvil­le, PA; six grandchild­ren, Kelsey and Dylan Hunsberger, Dahlia and Levi Williams, Mackenzie Card and Corissa Cohen; a sister, Cheryl Coddington and her husband Jim, of Harleysvil­le, PA; his mother-in-law, Rebe R. Jones, of Ambler, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 24, at Boehm’s United Church of Christ, 571 Penllyn-Blue Bell Pike, Blue Bell, PA. Interment will be in Boehm’s Cemetery, Blue Bell.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch St., Perkasie, or from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
