GA handles D’West at Katie Samson Festival

GA handled Downingtow­n West 15-5 Saturday morning at the Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival in Radnor. GA shot out to an early lead and used a 7-goal third quarter to start the second half.

Boys Lacrosse

GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 15, DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 5 >> GA handled Downingtow­n West 15-5 Saturday morning at the Katie Samson Lacrosse Festival in Radnor. GA shot out to an early lead and used a 7-goal third quarter to start the second half. The team snapped a three-game losing streak and looks to build momentum heading into Tuesday’s matchup where they host Malvern at Carey Stadium. NORTH PENN 10, WEST MILFORD, NJ 2 >> Reece Udinki delivered five assists and Danny Payne scored three goals for North Penn on Saturday.

Softball

WILSON WEST LAWN 4, WISSAHICKO­N 2 >> The Trojans gave up four runs in the third inning on five hits by Wilson West Lawn. That was all Wilson needed to hold on to a 4-2 win. Junior pitcher Sara Genell was able to shut down the Wilson team for the other six innings with excellent support from her defense. Genell only had one strikeout and two walks scattering seven hits. OWEN J. ROBERTS 11, NORRISTOWN 0 >> The Eagles dropped the PAC contest on Friday.

SPRING-FORD 11, METHACTON0>> Spring-Ford added some cushion to its No. 1 position in the Liberty Division with a victory over the Warriors.

Megan Kern went 2-for2, including a double and a home run, while finishing with two runs scored and three RBI to lead the Rams’ bats. Maggie McConney, Ashley Della Guardia (two runs scored) and Sophia Cinti (three RBI) each finished with two hits to supplement the two-hit performanc­e from pitchers Sam Lindsay and Bri Kelly. Lindsay got the win in the circle, striking out three while allowing no hits in three innings. Kelly came on in relief, striking out one and allowing two hits in two innings.

Abby Penjuke and Elizabeth Talbot had hits for Methacton.

Girls Lacrosse

SOUDERTON 18, PENNSBURY 13>> Riley McGown scored six goals as the Indians won the SOL game Saturday. Kaitlyn Mardi and Anna Anello each added three goals for the Indians (8-5). WC HENDERSON 14, SOUDERTON 10 >> Carlie Doughty scored four goals for the Indians in a nonconfere­nce loss Friday. SPRING-FORD 15, METHACTON 12 >> Camryn Jones led the Rams with five goals and two assists while Liv Yeagle posted a hat trick as Spring-Ford downed the Warriors in a Liberty Division contest.

Mackenzie Doyle added two goals in the win with Anja Sweeney (two assists), Lauren Mensch, Michaela Haney, Cassie Marte (two assists) and Jill Quigley adding a goal apiece. Kamille Ward provided 14save goaltendin­g.

Methacton was led by three goals from Alana Cardaci. Jackie Cerchio (four assists), Anna Price, Julie Byrne and Sydney Tornetta each scored twice. Rachel O’Toole stopped 16 shots in the loss.

Boys Volleyball

NORTH PENN 3, SOUDERTON 2>> Mike Pagan had 15 kills and Aaron Moyer added 23 assists for the Indians Friday.

Baseball

DOCK 15, LOWER MORELAND 0>> Dock defeated Lower Moreland 15-0 on Friday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Connor Schnable led Dock by drivinin six runs, finishing 3-for-4 at the plate. Dock Mennonite Pioneers Varsity captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Dock Mennonite Pioneers Varsity. Daniel Sabath earned the win. He threw three innings, surrenderi­ng zero runs, two hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Nolan Bolton threw one inning, as two relievers helped Dock finish off the victory. SPRING-FORD 6, METHACTON 0>> Jake Kelchner produced a superlativ­e pitching effort for the Spring-Ford baseball team Friday in its Pioneer Athletic Conference win over Methacton.

Kelchner yielded just two hits in his completega­me stint, fanning 11 in the course of the Rams’ 6-0 victory. He also drove in one of Spring-Ford’s runs for an offense getting a three-RBI performanc­e from Conor Larkin (2-for-3, double, home run).

OWEN J. ROBERTS 3, NORRISTOWN 1 >> Four Wildcat pitchers pooled their talents to no-hit the Eagles in this pairing of PAC Liberty Division teams.

Daniel Velez, Frankie Guinan, Dawson Stuart and Mike Deviney all saw time on the hill for Owen J, with Velez getting credit for the win. Josh Fulmer was OJR’s hitting star, going 2-for-3.
