Week of July 23 HONEY BEES AT NORRISTOWN FARM PARK
Sunday, July 23: Meet the Farm Park’s bee keeper, Don George on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 2 pm at Norristown Farm Park. Learn about bee biology and how you can help the honey bee at home. Participants will see an observation hive. The equipment used for bee keeping will also be showcased. Find out about the challenges facing modern bee keepers today and the reasons for the decline in the honey bee population. Taste honey and purchase some if you like! Meet in the salt wing of the dairy barn next to the park office. This free program is appropriate for adults and children ages six and older. Wednesday, July 26: Paint some water stones from the park’s collection or bring your own on Wednesday, at 10 am! Participants in the past have transformed their stones into insects, flowers, fish, frogs, nature scenes, and other creative ideas. Examples and art supplies will be provided. Meet at the Salt Wing next to the park office. This program is appropriate for adults and children ages five and older and costs $5.00 per person. July 29-30: Sacred Heart Parish in Swedesburg will hold its Festival of Families July 29 and 30 in the old Sacred Heart School yard across from Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St. Festival has many foods that everyone enjoys -- pierogi, golabki, Italian pork sandwiches, seafood, funnel cake, special baked items and much more. Live entertainment with Where’s Pete on July 29th and AM Radio on July 30th and kids games all weekend long. Week of July 30 MAENNER-CHOR GOLF OUTING
Saturday, Aug. 5: MaennerChor Club outing at Westover Golf Club, 401 South Schuylkill Ave, Jeffersonville, PA 19403. First tee time is 10 a.m. and all tee times are Blind Draw. Hole sponsorships are available for $50. Prizes will be awarded for top score; longest drive; closest to the pin. Refreshments will be provided on the course. Cost is $75 per golfer, which includes dinner, draft beer & soft drinks afterwards at the Norristown Maenner-Chor Pavilion - 920 Haws Ave, Norristown, PA 19401. Sign up individually or as a foursome.
