Week of September 3 NORRISTOWN POLICE THOMAS BARONE MEMORIAL CAR SHOW
Sunday, Sept. 3: The 5th Annual Norristown Police Thomas Barone Memorial Car Show will be held at the Norristown Maenner-Chor Club, 920 Haws Ave on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017. Proceeds support the Thomas Barone Scholarship Fund FOP #31. Bob Kelly, traffic anchor, Good Day Philadelphia - Fox 29 will be making a personal appearance. All cars, motorcycles and trucks are welcome -- from project cars to show cars. Pre-Registration is $15 and registration on the day of the show is $20. Registration is from 9 - 11 am with the show beginning at 11 and ending at 3. This is a free event and open to the public. Professional judging will determine awards for Excellence, Top 40 and Best in Class. Breakfast sandwiches, coffee & donuts will be offered beginning at 8 a.m. Lunch, beverages, music, raffle baskets will all be featured, as well as airconditioned indoor seating. COMMUNITY SINGING OF GERMAN FOLK-SONGS
Friday, Sept. 15: The Franklinville-Schwarzwald Männerchor is pleased to announce we are holding a unique event: Community Singing of the best-loved and well-known German Folk Songs. from 6-10 pm at VE Club – 130 Davisville Rd, Warminster, PA 18974 from 6-7 p.m. There are free dance lessons also being offered is a FREE dance lesson – learn how to dance the Viennese Waltz! Admission is $14 and includes dinner with bratwurst and trimmings. Drinks may be purchased at the VE’s full bars. Bring the whole family! ($10 Children under 12). The Mennonite Heritage Center, 565 Yoder Road, Harleysville, announces a Paper Cutting Workshop scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Popular paper cutting artist Pam Hults will teach the workshop. Participants can choose from several patterns that include both seasonal and traditional paper cutting designs. Students will take home a finished piece along with a finished grain painted frame provided by the instructor. Workshop fee is $90 (includes materials plus a materials fee of $30 that includes the designs and frame). Participants should bring along a cutting surface, Exacto knife or small scissors and small paint brushes. All other materials for the workshop will be supplied. FAMILY FUN DAY & CAR SHOW
Saturday, Sept. 16: Valley Forge Marketplace to Host Family Fun Day & Car Show. Classic, antique, muscle cars, hot rods, custom trucks, modified and stock bikes will fill Valley Forge Marketplace’s parking lot on Saturday, September 16th during the Family Fun Day and Car Show taking place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain date is Sunday, September 17th. Proceeds from this Family Fun Day and Car Show benefit the West Norriton Township Police Association, who help provide flu shots to the elderly, support an annual food drive, Toys for Tots, and contribute to Township Little League teams. There will be children’s amusements, food, beverages, and water ice. Raffle items include prizes such as; Weber Grill from The Home Depot, Element 32” Smart TV, an Amazon Echo, an Amazon Fire Stick, as well as gift cards from Chick-FilA and Marshall’s. There will also be a 50⁄50 drawing. The Valley Forge Marketplace is located at 600 S. Trooper Road, Norristown (intersection of Trooper Road / Route 363 and Egypt Road in West Norriton Township).
