Methacton’s duo coasting along in district doubles

Methacton’s Dina Nouaime and Tina Prince stayed on a roll, winning their first two rounds of District 1-AAA Doubles after capturing the PAC Championsh­ip last weekend. The No. 8 seeds won 6-0, 6-0 in the first round over Penn Wood’s Ivdele Ortiz and Sallay Thollie. In the 2nd round, the Warriors duo won 6-0, 6-3 over Perk Vallehy’s Jasmine Morris and Nadja Townsend. In the quarterfin­als tomorrow, they will face the No. 1 seeds from Conestoga. In Class AA Doubles, Lower Moreland’s No. 1 seeds Ally Cheiken and Elizabeth Berzin coasted into the finals without dropping a set. After a bye in the first round, the duo defeated Victoria Cervantes and Ce- cilia Logan of Villa Maria, 6-1, 6-3. In the quarters, the LM duo knocked off PJP’s Dominique Marracau and Jillian Boyle, 6-1, 6-0. Saturday in the finals the Lions dou will face Villa’s Brooke Simonson and Gabby Perschino. Matches will continue at Legacy at 5 p.m.

The Mount dropped an overtime decision Friday despite a goal from Madison Hornig. Grace DiGiovanni had an assist for Mount (8-8-1, 5-7).
