Augusta N. Huttlin, 97, of Abington and formerly of Hatfield, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017.

She was the beloved wife of the late George F. Huttlin, who died Feb. 1, 1986.

Born May 12, 1920, in Philadelph­ia, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Maria (Stumpf) Noerpel.

Augusta’s life centered on family, faith, and friendship. She spent her early years in Germantown, graduating from Germantown High school in 1938. Augusta worked at People’s Bond & Mortgage, married her beloved George in 1943, and settled into life in North Hills, where she devoted most of the next 30 years to raising three children and participat­ing in several activities at Our Lady Queen of Peace parish, including Scouting, Sodality, Altar and Rosary Society, and Mothers’ Club.

In 1980 “Gus,” as she was known, and George retired to Hatfield, providing an opportunit­y for her to develop new friendship­s at the senior gatherings hosted by “St. Stan’s,” her new spiritual home. She also spent several years volunteeri­ng at St. Mary’s Manor in Lansdale.

Failing health brought Augusta to Sunrise of Abington in 2011, where she quietly enjoyed the final years of her life.

Survivors include her children, George A. Huttlin of Adelphi, MD, Edward J. Huttlin (Marianne) of Fargo, ND, and Anne M. Scull (Nicholas) of Willow Grove; five grandchild­ren; three step-grandchild­ren; one great-grandchild; and two step-great-grandchild­ren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Grace Snell and Marie Keller; and brother, Anthony Noerpel.

Relatives and friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446 followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler.

Arrangemen­ts are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributi­ons be made in Mrs. Huttlin’s memory to St. Stanislaus Church, address above.
