Anna Kiesel Packard of Lansdale.

Anna (Ann) Kiesel Packard, 88, a resident of Lansdale, formerly of Warminster, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Doylestown Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Packard Sr., with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.

Born May 13, 1929 in Hicksville, Long Island, New York, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Kiesel. She was one of six children; survived by Frances Staehle and John Kiesel, and preceded in death by Marion, Joseph, and Catherine.

Ann graduated from St. Ignatius School in Hicksville and Farmingdal­e High School in Farmingdal­e, New York. She lived in Harrisburg, PA for 10 years and then moved to Warminster, PA, where the family resided for 35 years. Ann was an avid reader who also enjoyed crossword puzzles and fruitcake. She was particular­ly fond, and proud, of her service as a library volunteer in the Alta S. Leary Elementary School for 17 years. She loved both nature and wildlife. In addition to a lifelong commitment to the conservati­on and preservati­on of America’s wilderness for future generation­s, she enjoyed traveling to 22 National Parks in her lifetime.

Ann is survived by four children, Lynn Wielgosz of Delaware, LeRoy Packard Jr. of Lansdale, Laura Smith (Robert) of Lansdale, with whom she resided, and Lawrence Packard of Silver Spring, MD; and one granddaugh­ter, Robyn Smith of Takoma Park, MD.

The family will greet visitors at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave, Lansdale, PA on Monday, January 15 from 9 - 11am. Interment will be at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA. Contributi­ons in memory of Ann may be made to The National Parks Conservati­on Associatio­n (npca.org).
