The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County hosted the 3rd Annual Power Your Potential: Montgomery County Women’s Conference on March 22 at Normandy Farm Hotel and Conference Center. A soldout crowd, over 250 people, enjoyed networking and hearing from Honorary Chair, Tracy Davidson, NBC10 News Today; Keynote Speaker, Sheila

Hess, City of Philadelphia; and Keynote Speaker, Lisa Thomas-Laury, author and journalist; as well as from speakers and panelists in the Power Sessions.

The Woman of Excellence Award was given to Marci Schankweiler, founder and CEO, For Pete’s Sake Cancer Respite Foundation. Schankweile spoke on overcoming adversity, following her passion, and giving back by supporting families effected by cancer.

Power Your Potential also includes the Young Women Student Program, which provides juniors and seniors in college the opportunity to attend and participate in the conference. Each student in attendance was partnered with a mentor who accompanied them throughout the conference.

Guests were invited to bring a new or gently used purse to be donated to Laurel House and the Women’s Center of Montgomery County. Thanks to the generosity of the attendees, hundreds of purses were collected to empower survivors of domestic violence .

Merck & Co., Inc., was the Presenting Sponsor for the third year, and was joined by over 30 more sponsoring organizations.
