Anna D. Freed of Franconia Township; Mildred L. Lukens of Telford; Ethel M. Schlosser.
Anna D. Freed, age 89, a longtime resident of Franconia Township, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, Aug. 17. She was the wife of William B. Freed. The couple would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on September 10.
Born in Souderton, she was the daughter of the late Hiram D. and Anna R. (Detweiler) Delp. She attended school in Souderton School District and later attained her GED.
She loved her “sweet William” and was proud of her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Some of her hobbies were crocheting, baking (especially cinnamon buns) and caring for her grandchildren.
Anna worked alongside her husband first at Rockhill Mennonite Home, then at Family Heritage Restaurant, which she and her husband founded, and finally at their produce stand at their home. She was well known for her zucchini bread and will be remembered for her words of encouragement and her sense of humor.
In addition to her husband William, she is survived by two daughters Sharlene Immel and husband Nevin, Sellersville, Sheryl Derstine and husband John, Blooming Glen, two sisters Mildred Willouer and Eva Delp, both of Souderton, a sister-in-law Esther Delp of Lansdale, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Sunday, August 26, 3 PM at Souderton Mennonite Homes Summit View Auditorium, 207 W. Summit St., Souderton, where viewing will take place from 1-3 PM. Burial will follow at Towamencin Mennonite Church Cemetery.
