3>> Two heavyweigh­t tennis powers took to the court Monday and it wasn’t until a third-set tiebreak at No. 4 doubles that the match was decided. Hannah Sharkey and Breanna Weigelt provided the win for the Rams, taking home the match 10-7 in the tiebreak. North Penn’s Neha Velaga continued her dominant campaign at No. 1 singles, losing just one game in overmatchi­ng Spring-Ford’s Tori Alexander. Girls water polo

BEAST OF THE EAST >> The Wissahicko­n girls water polo team made history on Saturday by capturing the Flight II Championsh­ip at the Beast of the East Water Polo Tournament at Governor Mifflin. This marks the first time in school history that either boys or girls water polo won this Flight. The Trojans played well in all three of their games on Saturday, handling Episcopal Academy 10-5, then besting Penn Charter 14-7 in the semifinals and finished the day by beating Eastern Conference foe Souderton by a score of 8-4. Goalie Caitlin Valentine stopped 38 shots through the three games. The Trojans will put their undefeated conference record to the test when they travel to North Penn on Tuesday.

Boys water polo

BRUNSWICK 13, WISSAHICKO­N 4 >> The Trojans lost in The Beat of the East to Brunswick despite two goals from Anthony Schoppe. Peter Decker and Matthew Krieger added a goal apiece, while Daniel Tumolo had three saves. CATHEDRAL PREP 18, WISSAHICKO­N 8 >> Nick Kang and Anthony Schopope scored three goals each in a losing effort. Ryan Keagy and Max Levine also scored for Wissahicko­n, while Daniel Tumolo had three saves in net. Russel Hoyt also added one save for Wissahicko­n.
