Ella C. Tweedie of Har­leysville

Ella C. Tweedie, 106, died on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 8th, in Har­leysville, PA.

Ella is sur­vived by her son, Harry Tweedie and his wife, Mary Tweedie, of Souderton, PA; three grand­chil­dren; An­drea Tweedie of West Ch­ester, PA, Ali­son Tweedie (and Peter Syre) of Den­ver, Colorado, Alex Tweedie (and Tracy Tweedie) of Col­legeville, PA; and five great grand­chil­dren. Ella is also sur­vived by her sis­ter, Vir­ginia Rum­ford, of Har­leysville, PA.

Ella was born in Con­shohocken, PA on Aug. 20, 1912, one of seven chil­dren of Wil­liam and El­iz­a­beth (Hast­ings) Cory. She grad­u­ated from Norristown High School, at­tended West Ch­ester Uni­ver­sity, then owned her own Beauty Salon in Norristown for over 30 years.

Ella was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band of 40 years, Harry D. Tweedie Sr. To­gether they trav­elled to Europe, South Amer­ica and Cen­tral Amer­ica, and through­out the United States.

Ella was a mem­ber, elder and dea­con of Cen­tral Pres­by­te­rian Church in Norristown, PA.

Hon­or­ing her wishes, the ser­vice and burial will be pri­vate.

The fam­ily re­quests that in lieu of flow­ers, memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions be made to Peter Becker Com­mu­nity, 800 Maple Av­enue, Har­leysville, PA 19438.
