George G. Williams, 79, of Harleysvil­le, passed way November 8, 2018. He was the loving husband of the late Marilyn (Ruch) Williams when, upon her death in 2014, they had been happily married for 49 years.

Born March 18, 1939, in Pittston, PA, he was the son of the late Gordon and Ada (Wray) Williams.

George was a proud patriot. He served in the US. Navy and was stationed on the USS Enterprise, the world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. After the Navy, George worked in constructi­on and then worked for Commercial Flooring Systems for over 20 years.

He was an active Freemason for many years.

George loved the outdoors throughout his life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing especially at Lake Hauto. He also liked water skiing and snowmobili­ng. George showed his loved for the outdoors when he traveled with his wife Marilyn to many national parks across the country. He especially loved their trips to Alaska.

George enjoyed working around the house and especially loved making dollhouses for the family. He will be remembered as a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his six brothers and sisters and later in life his five grandchild­ren.

His survivors include two daughters, Sherri Williams (Lee Sossen), NYC, and Monique Asmann (Dave), Harleysvil­le; grandchild­ren, Ryan Asmann, Caitlyn Asmann, Story Sossen, Matthew Asmann and Townes Sossen; brother, Gordon ”Bud“Williams (Virginia “Ginny”), Lansdale.

He is predecease­d by siblings, Nancy Silfies, Ethel Holsonbach, Sarah ”Sally” Gower, Millicent “Meme” Ladner, and Larry Williams.

There will be a visitation starting 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Advent Lutheran Church, 470 Landis Road, Harleysvil­le, PA 19438, with services at 1:30 p.m. Military honors will follow the church service. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory to Advent Lutheran Church, at the above address, or to the Shiners Hospital for Children, Office of Developmen­t, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
