EveryHome Realtors celebrates 20th anniversary

EveryHome Realtors is celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2019.

The boutique real estate agency, now headquartered in Lansdale, began as a vision shared by co-founders Paul Heck and Katie Kennedy in a tiny Harleysville garage.

“I was a single mom looking for a place to raise my two kids,” Kennedy said. “I wanted a home in a safe area and within a good school district, but I had a really limited budget. At the time, the only way to see homes was to have real estate agents find you properties, and they didn’t always understand what it was that you wanted. I thought about how I wanted to be able to see every home, not just the houses that the Realtor wanted me to see.”

In 1999, EveryHome.com was born and became the first website of its kind to pull listings directly from the local Multiple Listing Service (MLS). This provided homebuyers with the ability to easily browse every real estate listing in the Greater Philadelphia area on their own terms.

EveryHome’s early days in Harleysville began with just two desks in Kennedy’s garage. The broker of EveryHome Realtors and Kennedy’s partner, Paul Heck, had an extensive background in computer science and coding, and he spent long days developing software to ensure that every home for sale was accessible to local web browsers.

“After the website became public, I can vividly remember the first email we got and how exciting it was,” Kennedy said. “And then the next day, we got eight emails.” Word quickly spread about the local real estate startup, and by 2006, Kennedy and her office assistant were closing approximately 15 homes per month.

“That was when I realized it was time to bring other agents on board,” she said.

EveryHome Realtors has since expanded to the 100plus boutique real estate agency that they are today.

In 2019, they will be unveiling an all-new website with new browsing features and offering a streamlined buying process with enhanced mortgage and title agency partnerships.

“We hope to serve as a ‘one-stop shop’ for all of our clients’ real estate needs,” Kennedy said.
