LANSDALE >> The Lansdale Borough Police Department is inviting the public to take part in an Autism Awareness Night on May 29.

The event will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the borough municipal complex, 1 Vine Street, and those with autism and their friends and families are invited and encouraged to attend.

Those with autism can interact with members of the police department, and start a conversation with law enforcement regarding safety and awareness issues. Visitors can meet police officers in a positive setting in order to grow understanding, while learning tips from state certified instructors on how best to interact with police.

Visitors can also fill out optional autism emergency contact forms which police can use if needed to respond in certain situations. For more information visit www.Lansdale.org, search for “Lansdale Borough Police Department” on Facebook or follow @LansdalePD on Twitter.
