Movie night

Tabor United Methodist Church: A free Outdoor Movie Night featuring “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” is held July 7 at 2209 Hendricks Station Road, Woxall, Upper Salford. Prayer time

Shelly Square Shopping Center: Marketplac­e Prayer Ministry is the monthly prayer ministry located at a storefront location at 2850 Shelly Road, Upper Salford. In July it will be held 4 to 8 p.m. July 5. Participan­ts can visit prayer stations, pray alone or request a prayer team from Tabor Methodist Church to pray with them. Service notes

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church: The church at 211 S. Main St., North Wales, celebrates a Holy Communion Service at 9:30 a.m. June 30 featuring special music by flutist Cindy Le Blanc. The mission team will also share some of their experience­s in Puerto Rico. St. Peter’s was founded this month 243 years ago, in June 1776.

Trinity Lutheran Church: “Church on the Lawn,” a casual, intimate, dog- and kid-friendly form of worship, is held at 6 p.m. Wednesdays in June, July and August on the front lawn facing Main Street at 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale. Bring a chair or blanket.

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church: Jazz Vespers is held the first Sunday of the month at 7 p.m. This non-traditiona­l evening service featuring jazz music blended with prayers, a spiritual message and other elements of worship. Local musicians are encouraged to join in (arrive by 6:30). A free-will offering will be taken. The church is at 211 S. Main St., North Wales.

Trinity Lutheran Church: Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders in a training session 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 29 in Room 125⁄127 of the church at 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale. The workshop will also teach how to administer naloxone in the event of opioid overdose. Faith leaders, community members, employers, police officers, hospital staff, first responders and caring individual­s are all encouraged to attend. Christ Covenant Church: During July Christ Covenant Church, 2200 Mainland Road, Towamencin, will be supporting the Lamb Foundation’s Cornucopia Cupboard with donations of non-perishable food. Items especially needed in restocking their food pantry are: canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, 100 percent juice, pasta and pasta sauce, rice, beans, instant pudding, dry cereal, canned tuna and salmon, disposable razors, deodorant, bar soap, shampoo, bleach, laundry detergent, fabric softeners, paper towels and toilet paper. Contributi­ons may be dropped off through July 31 at the church office Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays from 9 to noon. In the parade

Whitemarsh Township July Fourth Parade: St. Peter’s Evangelica­l Lutheran Church in Lafayette hill is taking part in the annual parade. In addition to members of the St. Peter’s congregati­on marching in the parade, St. Peter’s pastor, the Rev. Joanthan Suloff, will give the invocation for the parade. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. from the Barren Hill Fire Company on Germantown Pike, concluding at Miles Park, at Germantown Pike and Joshua Road. On May 20, 1778, St. Peter’s was part of the Revolution­ary War’s Battle of Barren Hill.
