Compas leads Wiss past Upper Moreland

Boys basketball

WISSAHICKO­N 43, UPPER MORELAND 39 >> Matt Compas scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Trojans to an SOL American win over Upper Moreland Tuesday.

The junior lefty scored eight points in the fourth quarter to help Wissahicko­n hold onto the win.

The Trojans improve to 5-2 in SOL American play and are tied for second place behind 7-0 Cheltenham.

METHACTON 64, PHOENIXVIL­LE 20 >> The Warriors rolled over the Phantoms in Tuesday’s PAC divisional crossover game to remain unbeaten in league play.

Erik Timko gave Methacton (6-0, 10-0) a game-high 20 pts, while Owen Kropp and Brett Eberly chipped in 11 apiece. They helped the Warriors open a 44-9 halftime lead that went to 59-11 after three quarters. NORRISTOWN 67, UPPER PERKIOMEN 38 >> With three players scoring in double figures, the Eagles rolled over the Indians in Tuesday’s PAC divisional crossover pairing.

Sean Boyle and Hunter Flack shared scoring honors for UP, both having game-high 14-point outings. POPE JOHN PAUL II 71, OWEN J. ROBERTS 47 >> Drew McKeon headed a trio of double-figure scorers that fueled the Golden Panthers’ PAC divisional crossover victory agains the Wildcats Tuesday.

McKeon collected a game-high 21 points for PJP, followed by teammates Justin Green (14) and Kelvin Green (10). Jalen Lucas was high scorer for Owen J. with 13.

UPPER MERION 64, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 60 >> Dominic Breece headed a quartet of double-figure scorers the Vikings needed to outlast Perk Valley in Tuesday’s PAC divisional crossover pairing.

Breece netted 18 for UM, joined by Maddison Tatom (15 points), Lukas Kim and Ty Jones (11 each). PV, which hung even with Upper Merion through three quarters, got 15 from Kameron Parks and 14 from Tyler Lapetina. SOUDERTON 62, QUAKERTOWN 53 >> The Indians jumped out to a 22-3 first quarter lead and held off the Panthers Tuesday night.

Brian Reiner led Souderton with 20 points, Evan Kutzler added 15 and Jason Price had 10.

Luke Bauer led Quakertown with 18 points and Jack Hallowell had 13. GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 68, PENN CHARTER 58 >> Jordan Longino scored 29 points in the Patriots Inter-Ac win Tuesday.

Longino hit four threepoint­ers in the game and scored 10 points in the fourth quarter.

SOUDERTON 41, QUAKERTOWN 25 >> Mikaela Reese lead a balanced Indians offensive effort with nine points in a win over Quakertown Tuesday.

Olivia Schneider and Casey Harter added eight points and Jordan Zimmerman had seven.

Souderton out-scored Quakertown 21-6 in the middle quarters to take full control after a 13-10 first quarter. GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 48, BALDWIN 26 >> Jessica Moore scored 14 points to lead the Patriots to a win Tuesday.

Becca booth chipped in with 12 and Jaye Haynes had 10.

GA used a 16-5 second quarter and 19-6 third to cruise to victory. METHACTON 65, PHOENIXVIL­LE 26 >> Sydney Tornetta’s big statistica­l game was key to the Warriors handling the Phantoms in Tuesday’s PAC divisional crossover play.

Tornetta got within 100 points (917) of the 1,000 mark for her scholastic career by netting 15, and she added seven rebounds and five assists. Nicole Timko kicked in with a gamehigh 22 points, and Cassidy Kropp 10, for Methacton while Angelina Williams had 11 to head Phoenixvil­le. OWEN J. ROBERTS 53, POPE JOHN PAUL II 26 >> The doublefigu­re scoring of Hannah Clay and Olivia LeClaire led the Wildcats in Tuesday’s PAC divisional crossover roll of the Golden Panthers.

Clay had a game-high 12 points, one more than LeClaire’s 11.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 62, UPPER MERION 13 >> On a night when the two Vikings teams honored their senior players Tuesday, Perkiomen Valley handled Upper Merion in their PAC divisional crossover game.

Leading scorer for PV was senior Lindsay Hartman with nine points, all off 3-point shots. Naiya Daisey contribute­d eight points and every Perkiomen Valley player scored in the game.

UPPER MORELAND 40, WISSAHICKO­N 29 >> The Golden Bears picked up an SOL American win over the Trojans Tuesday.

EmmyFaith Wood led UM with 17 points and Bean Hughes added nine.

NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 47, DOCK MENNONITE >> New Hope-Solebury made quick work of the Pioneers Tuesday in BAL play.

The Lions led, 22-2, after the first quarter and 36-2 at halftime.

METHACTON 93, UPPER PERKIOMEN 75 >> Jan Perez Bonilla figured on four winning efforts by the Warriors in Tuesday’s PAC meet with the Indians.

Perez Bonilla headed the 50 free (23.19) and 100 fly (55.69) in addition to swimming legs of Methacton’s first-place 20 medley (1:49.18) and 200 free (1:34.81) relays. Sean Lyman gave Upper Perk first in the 200 IM (2;00.09) and 100 free (50.75) and swam the lead leg of its winning 400 free relay (3;30.10). SPRING-FORD 114, PERKIOMEN VALLELY 56 >> Brendan Baganski and Sean Laing each won pairs of individual races to lead the Rams’ PAC victory over the Vikings Tuesday.

Baganski took the 50 free (22.12) and 100 free (50.27), with Laing doing the same in the 200 IM (2:13.11) and 100 fly (54.24). Jacob Replogle got firsts for PV in the 500 free (4:46.27) and 100 back (55.19).

BOYERTOWN 95, UPPER MERION 75 >> Owen Miller and Nolan Benner combined to get the Bears six of their first-place finishes in Tuesday’s PAC meet with the Vikings.

Miller won the 200 free (1:47.69) and 100 free (48.75), as did Benner in the 200 IM (2:01.44) and 100 fly (53.69). They also swam legs of Boyertown’s winning 200 free (1:31.02) and 400 free (3:27.18) relays.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 78, NORRISTOWN 49 >> Dalton Fink won two individual events to key the Wildcats’ PAC victory over the Eagles Tuesday.

Fink headed the 200 free (1:47.68) and 500 free (4:59.21) for an OJR unit that had Nathan VanNatter take the 100 fly (57.56) and swim a leg of Robert’ winning 200 medley relay (1:57.72).

SOUDERTON 102, CB SOUTH 78 >> The Indians stayed perfect in the SOL Continenta­l with a win over CB South Tuesday.

HATBORO-HORSHAM 112, WISSAHICKO­N 74 >> The Hatters won eight of 12 events to pick up a win over the Trojans Tuesday.

Sarah Pickel, Fernanda Ouguiwara and Jeannette Mac Turk set personal best times for Wissahicko­n. SOUDERTON 97, CB SOUTH 89>> The Indians picked up a narrow win over South Tuesday to improve to 3-0 in the SOL Continenta­l.

Souderton sophomore Kayla Pike achieved her District 1 considerat­ion time in the 100 breast and junior Jordyn Grossman achieved her District 1 considerat­ion time in the 50 Free. METHACTON 89, UPPER PERKIOMEN 82 >> In Tuesday’s close PAC meet, Alex Ferrance and Amanda Tsai each won pairs of individual events to lift the Warriors past the Indians.

Ferrance headed the 200 free (2:07.57) and 100 fly (1:03.60) while Tsai won the 200 IM (2:28.75) and 100 back (1:04.84). Noel Fresa won two individual events to lead UP: The 50 free (24.94) and 100 free (55.79).

SPRING-FORD 109, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 61 >> The Rams swept the top spots in every event during Tuesday’s PAC meet with the Vikings.

Ashley Gutshall had a school record day for Spring-Ford with her firsts in the 50 free (24.58) and 100 free (56.30). Emma Thomas (200 free, 1:59.29 and 500 free, 5:23.32), and Anna Curran (200 IM, 2:18.96 and 100 breast, 1:01.92) were other twoevent winners for SpringFord.

BOYERTOWN 93, UPPER MERION 72 >> Katherine Kummerer and Gabrielle McKee were two-event winners for the Bears in Tuesday’s PAC meet with the Vikings.

Kummerer took the 200 free (2:07.00) and 100 free (58.31) while McKee led the 100 fly (1:00.08) and 100 back (1:00.28). McKee also swam legs on Boyertown’s winning 200 medley (1:56.66) and 200 free (1:40.06) relays.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 76, NORRISTOWN 65 >> Natalie Spencer was a two-event winner for the Wildcats in Tuesday’s PAC meet with the Eagles.

Spencer headed the 200 IM (2:22.24) and 500 free (5:42.59).
