St. John’s United Church of Christ: Annual Winter Congregational Dinner after the 10:15am service on January 26. An Italian dinner will be prepared and served by the Board of Deacons. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church: 211 S. Main St., North Wales celebrates the Third Sunday after Epiphany with one Holy Communion Service at 10:00 AM, followed by a congregational annual meeting. The Youth group will lead the service with choir music “This Little Light”. During the 10 o’clock service there will be SPARK Sunday school and a nursery for infants and toddlers. All are welcome. St. John’s UCC: St. John’s United Ringers, the hand bell choir at St. John’s United United Church of Christ, will play “With Timbrel and Dance” by Margaret R. ‘A Musical Mosiac’: An unusual chamber concert will be presented by the newly renamed music organization, Montgomery County Chorale & Orchestra, under the direction of David Fitzpatrick. The choral and orchestral music to be presented is inspired by art, poetry, and dance. Also highlighted will be an exhibit featuring artwork by local artists Susan Evershed, Leroy Forney, Stephen Heilakka, Kara Silverman, K. Jameson Stratton, Wayne Stratz and Marg Wolf. Valentine’s Celebration and Renewal of Vows: St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church: 16 S. Spring Garden Street, Ambler, announces the Celebration of the Sacramental Renewal of Vows on Valentine’s weekend. This event is one of the year’s events leading up to the 100 Jubilee of St Joseph’s in October, 2020. Mass with Rev. Eugene M. Tully, 4pm Feb. 15. Immediately following the Mass will be the Sacramental Renewal of Vows. Light refreshments follow in the Heritage Hall for all parishioners and attendees adjacent to the main entrance of the church. This event is open to any Catholic couple in the Ambler area — parishioner, former parishioner or not, that wishes to renew their vows. Holy Hour for Vocations: This monthly Holy Hour highlights the need for vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, and consecrated life and the necessity to pray for them. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church: The St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Thrift Shop at 211 S. Main St., North Wales, is open for its 28th season benefiting local charities. Hours are Wednesdays from 9:30a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Browse a new maternity line, as well as clothing for children and women, books, art, jewelry, attic treasures, housewares and more. Help others
Providing shelter: Volunteers are needed every day/ night throughout the month of February when Congregation Beth Or, 239 Welsh Road, Upper Dublin, supports the Interfaith Housing Network (IHN) by housing up to 3families. Volunteers are being sought for three opportunities: making and bringing a meal, providing transportation to and from Beth Or, serving as overnight chaperone. Sign up at: http://www.carecalendar.org.
Christ Covenant Church: 2200 Mainland Road, Harleysville, will be supporting Keystone Opportunity Center with donations of nonperishable food during January. Items especially needed in restocking their food pantry are: cereal, oatmeal, pancake mix (complete), pancake syrup, canned meats (tuna, chicken, ham, salmon), spaghetti sauce, baked beans, meals in cans (spaghettios with meatballs, ravioli, beefaroni), canned fruit in natural juices, sugar,
ketchup, mayo, mustard, oil, toilet paper, laundry soap, paper towels also gluten free, sugar free, and low/no sodium products.. Tai chi and yoga
Church of the Holy Spirit: A beginners tai chi class is offered at 10a.m. Saturdays at Sumneytown Pike and Barndt Road, Upper Salford. An intermediate class is held at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays. At 7 p.m. on Mondays is a yoga class with breathing, slow yoga postures, quiet relaxation and silent meditation.
