Rally cry to reopen: Let’s go, KOP!

- By Rachel Ammon Director, Marketing & Communications King of Prussia District

From the glow of the white tents outside of your favorite restaurant, to the sound of live music drifting through Town Center, and the kind eyes smiling back as you do your back-toschool shopping, the signs are all there. King of Prussia is open for business and, boy, did we miss you.

Don’t get us wrong, KOP was never truly closed. While many of our 60,000+ employees traded in offices for kitchen tables, many could not. Clinicians and frontline workers in KOP’s many healthcare facilities; grocery store clerks; police, fire and EMS personnel; restaurant and retail workers who clocked overtime to keep their businesses afloat; volunteers of the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard; sanitation and public works employees… the list goes on and on.

Before we can spout off the many ways that KOP is ready to safely welcome you back, we must first thank those who kept our community going strong during this unprecedented time. Their work has not gone unnoticed. We see you, and we thank you. And now…Let’s Go, KOP! These three little words are a rally cry to return to all that you love in KOP. That birthday that you “celebrated” in the spring? Make up for it by throwing axes, sampling beers at Workhorse or visiting an escape room. All those hours logged with Netflix?

Time for a hike through Valley Forge National Historical Park. Anniversary left uncelebrated? KOP’s romantic restaurants, hotels and jewelry stores will get you out of the dog house quickly. And, not to bring down the mood, but that doctor’s appointment you’ve been putting off? It’s time to get going on that, too.

It’s time to make-good on all that you missed over the past six months, and KOP is just the place to do it. When you visit us, you’ll see that many of our businesses have pivoted quickly to serve the needs of the public. You’ll also see the level of care and detail that has gone into keeping customers and employees as safe as possible. We do ask that you do your part by wearing your mask, maintaining a safe distance from others, and as trite as it sounds, showing up for your reservations on time. With restaurant occupancy as low as it is right now, that last point has to be said.

If you’re curious about what’s open in KOP, how your KOP experience may look a little different or you just like pictures of food and gift card giveaways, check out King of Prussia District on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. We at King of Prussia District have been busy while working from home, creating content that is meant to entertain and inform, and developing promotions to drive traffic back to KOP, like the Get More, KOP gift card flash sales.

On behalf of all of KOP’s businesses, especially those in the hospitality and hotel industries, we’ve missed you and we are ready to safely welcome you back. #LetsGoKOP!

Founding Farmers Restaurant in King of Prussia Town Center is one of the participating businesses in a new initiative launched by King of Prussia District. The district launched a flash sale of enhanced gift cards to a variety of King of Prussia businesses to “welcome back” customers. An initial 1,000 gift cards were offered — nearly selling out in 24 hours.
