Local businesses are anxious to serve
We are back to business. Members of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Montgomery County are now open and once again providing their products and services. The businesses are taking safety precautions very seriously and are committed to following the CDC and PA Department of Health guidelines including the requirement to wear masks, maintain social distancing and ensure their location is regularly cleaned and sanitized.
Small businesses remain the backbone of our economy. Many have been serving the community for years and in some cases generations. They have invested their life savings and personal equity into servicing their customers as well as to provide a living for themselves and their employees. They have regularly donated and sponsored sports clubs, school events, and nonprofit organizations without hesitation. Now they need your help to ensure they remain in business.
Your support can be extended in a number of different ways beyond in person meetings or shopping. Purchasing gift cards online is a safe, yet effective way to provide support. In addition, social media can assist a business in reaching new customers, stay engaged with the community and increase their site ranking. These options include

like, share and comment on a site to introduce a business to potential new customers. Many businesses have set up online events such as livestreaming classes, webinars and delivery and pick-up services. Taking advantage of these offerings as well as sharing them on Instagram and Facebook will help keep the community engaged. Finally, take a few minutes to write a review for your favorite business. A Google review will give a credibility boost while saving the business money on advertising.
The pandemic has significantly impacted the way business has been conducted, but working together we can all help to ensure that our favorite establishments will be able to continue to operate once the crisis is behind us.
