CHASE RICE HEADLINES DRIVE-IN CONCERT AT OAKS

-

Country music star Chase Rice performs an acoustic drive-in concert on Saturday night in the parking lot of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Ave., Oaks. Gates open at 5 p.m.

Spectators will be allowed to exit their cars but remain near them, and masks are required at all times.

Rice is touring in support of his latest EP, “The Album Part II,” released in May as a four-song follow-up to his January surprise release, “The Album Part I.” “Part II” contains the anthem “Belong,” a reassuring song that Rice added to the album while readying it for release in the early days of the COVID-19 quarantine.

“‘Belong’ might be the most meaningful song that I’ve ever put out,” he said. “My favorite line in the song is ‘where we’re going we don’t know, but we’re going there together,’ and that’s the truth, especially for these times right now.”

Rice first climbed charts as a co-writer of Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise,” which topped the Billboard Hot Country Chart for 24 weeks in 2012. In 2014, Rice broke through as an artist with his major-label debut, “Ignite the Night,” which contained Top 5 singles “Ready, Set, Roll” and “Gonna Wanna Tonight.” In 2017 he released “Lambs & Lions,” and his first No. 1 single as a performer came in 2019 with “Eyes On You.”

Tickets must be purchased in advance online and cost $200 for a car pass that is good for up to five people. Best view tickets are $250, and VIP passes are $300, all at eventbrite.com. The Grouser Girls will open.
