Ballot delivery, election readiness detailed by county
NORRISTOWN » With less than three weeks until the 2020 general election, Montgomery County officials continued encouraging voters to cast their ballots.
“Whether it’s [a] mail-in ballot, if you want to use one of the satellite offices or in person, just make your plan, and make sure that you vote,” said Montgomery County Commissioners’ Vice Chairman Ken Lawrence Jr.
Lawrence, who also serves as chairman of the county election board, addressed his colleagues, staff members and attendees of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners meeting Thursday morning with a general status report on mail-in and in-per
son election preparations.
The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 19 and voters planning to vote by mail must request a mail-in ballot by 5 p.m. on Oct. 27.
There have been 237,890 mail-in ballot applications approved and 216,671 mailin ballots sent as of Thursday morning, according to Lawrence, who added that 25,589 were received by the county’s Office of Voter Services via mail or the established 11 drop boxes, which opened earlier this month.
They’re available for use from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays at the following locations:
• Cheltenham: The Chel
tenham Wall Park, located at 1 Wall Park Drive in Elkins Park
• Conshohocken: 225 Washington St. in Conshohocken
• Lansdale: The Lansdale Church Road Parking Lot, located at 226 Station Square Blvd. in Lansdale
• Lower Merion: The Lower Merion Ludington Library, located at 5 S. Bryn Mawr Ave. in Bryn Mawr
• Norristown: A ir y Street Parking Lot, located at the intersection of DeKalb and Airy streets in Norristown.
• Pottstown: The Pottstown Montgomery County Community College – West Campus at the Hanover Street Building, located at 95 S. Hanover St. in Pottstown,
• Royer sford: T he Royersford Municipal Building, located at 300 Main St., in Royersford
• Skippack: The Skippack Municipal Building, located at 4089 Heckler
Road in Skippack
• Upper Dublin: The Upper Dublin Municipal Building, located at 801 Loch Alsh Ave. in Fort Washington
• Upper Freder ick: Green Lane Park, located at 2144 Snyder Road in Green Lane
• Upper Moreland: The Willow Grove YMCA, located at 3300 Davisville Road in Hatboro
Dropboxes will also be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, and from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2 and on Election Day, Nov.
3. Voters must have their ballots submitted via drop box or by way of the county’s voter services office by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Additionally, four satellite offices for the Office of Voter Services opened on Oct. 10, according to Lawrence.
“You can apply for a mail-in ballot at any of these offices,” he said. “You can wait for that bal
lot to be printed out. You can cast it, sign it and vote there.”
The office hours are available online, and can be found at the following locations:
• The Montgomery County Willow Grove Annex, located at 102 N. York Road in Willow Grove
• The Montgomery County Lansdale Office, located at 421 W. Main St. in Lansdale
• The Magisterial District Court Office of Lower Merion, located at 925 Montgomery Ave. in Narberth
• Montgomery County Community College’s west campus, located 101 College Drive in Pottstown
For the upcoming inperson portion of the general election, Lawrence said officials “mailed out a letter to every registered voter” informing them of their polling place.

gomery County on Election Day, according to Lawrence, who added the county election board firmed up the final precincts in Abington, Green Lane, Lower Merion, Plymouth, Upper Moreland, and Whitemarsh.
In other business, the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners authorized a $202,970 agreement between the county’s Office of Voter Services and AT&T Fleet Complete
of Atlanta, for “1,200 GPS security trackers with service for all Montgomery County voting machines.”
The one-year commitment was made available through a National Association of State Procurement Officials cooperative contract, according to the award.
