Peddler’s Village gears up for holidays
Here are some of the events planned for this weekend throughout the region:
• Peddler’s Village has revised its annual Grand Illumination Ceremony. This year it will host a daily series of “mini lightings” from today through Sunday and from Nov. 27-29. Lights will turn on in one of three areas of the village at 5:30, 6 and 6:30 p.m. Santa will also make surprise socially distanced appearances during those two weekends as well as on Dec. 5-6. Masks are required outdoors when it is not possible to maintain at least a 6feet of distance from others. Today will also mark the opening of the Gingerbread House Competition and Display, which will be located in Shop #1in the Courtyard. It will include more than 70 creative entries and will remain on view through Jan.
9. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Jan. 10, Peddler’s Village will present a family-friendly outdoor walking mystery event called “Elf on the Stealth.” Tickets for “Elf on the Stealth” are $25 and are available online at PeddlersVillage.com. Peddler’s Village is a 42-acre shopping, dining, lodging and entertainment destination in Lahaska, Bucks County, that features 18th centurystyle buildings, gardens and winding brick walkways.

Oaks, on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance at eastcoastreptilesuperexpos.com or $10 cash at the door. The show will feature vendors from across the country selling live reptiles, amphibians, arachnids, food items, supplies, books, cages and related accessories at discounted prices. Safety protocols will be in place, including mandatory masks and social distancing.
• Sellersville Theater presents upcoming shows featuring trumpeter, composer and arranger Matt Cappy on Friday at 8 p.m., singer-songwriter Glen Burtnik and his Socially Distant Orchestra on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Live at the Fillmore: The Definitive Tribute to the Original Allman Brothers Band on Wednesday at 5 and 9 p.m. Limited in-person seating is available. Tickets for Cappy range from $19.50 to $29.50, or $10 for the livestream. Tickets for Burtnik are $25, or $12.50 for the livestream. • Kennett Flash in Kennett Square hosts Jawn of the Dead, a livestreamed tribute to the Grateful Dead, on Friday at 8 p.m. The concert will be streamed at Facebook.com/TheKennettFlash/live and on the Flash’s YouTube page. Led by Philadelphia-area
guitarist Rich Hill, the band also includes James Tauscher on guitar, Jim Shaflucas on bass, Dean Sophocles on keys and Drew Gerace on drums.
• Steel City Coffeehouse, 203Bridge St., Phoenixville, hosts an online open mic hosted by Ed Simpson tonight from 7 to 10 on Zoom, and Free Acoustic Friday with J.D. Malone on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Royersford, presents Mike Vecchione on Friday at 7 p.m., Shane Gillis on Saturday at 7 p.m. and Michael Somerville on Sunday at 6 p.m. under its heated tent. Also, a Thanksgiving Eve show featuring Jimmy Shubert will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 per show at souljoelscomedyclub.nightout.com.
• The Tailgate Under the Tent Series at 118 North, Wayne, presents Jawn of the Dead (Grateful Dead tribute) today at 6 p.m., Muskrat Flats featuring John Taylor on Friday at 6 p.m. followed by Arthur Thomas and the Funkatorium at 8:15, Whiskey Logic on Saturday at 6 p.m. followed by Big Mind at 8:15, and Jon Crouse on Sunday at 6 p.m. The shows are all ages and free to attend.
