Frederick H. Shisler

Frederick H. Shisler, 86, of Lansdale, passed away peacefully Friday, January 1, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Terry (Albrecht) Shisler, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage in September.

Born March 30, 1934 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Melvin F. and Catherine (Hoffman) Shisler.

Fred was a lifelong resident of Lansdale and graduated from Lansdale High School in 1952, where he achieved many athletic accolades and was later inducted into the North Penn Alumni Association Athletic Hall of Fame. He graduated from Gettysburg College in 1956 and Jefferson Medical School in 1960. Fred interned at Reading Hospital from 1960 - 1961 and served as a Captain in the United States Air Force at Steward Air Force Base from 1961-1963. He was a Family Practitioner at the Lansdale Medical Group from 1963 until his retirement in 1999.

After retirement, Fred and Terry enjoyed traveling throughout the world and their yearly vacation to Captiva Island, Florida. He also enjoyed spending quiet times with his family, including Sunday dinners and attending his grandchildrens’ sporting events. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Along with his wife, Terry, Frederick is survived by two daughters, Susan Plaugher (Timothy) and Sandra Marrone (Steven) both of Lansdale; and five grandchildren, Stephanie, Samuel and Abby Plaugher, Ryan, and Lauren Marrone. He will also be dearly missed by his sister-in-law Ginny Henderson, nieces Kristin Ward (Stephen) and Brooke Pletcher (Jonathan), and grand nephews Andrew, Joshua and Noah Pletcher.
