Rudolph “Rudy” D. Gular Sr, 82, of Sellersvil­le, formerly of Upper Salford, passed away on December 27, 2020. Rudy was born in Lansdale to the late Rudolph and Ethel Irene (David) Gular. He was the loving husband of Karen (Hronich) Gular, until her passing in 2012.

Mr. Gular had worked for nearly all his life in the constructi­on industry, including his own home building company in the 1960’s. In his free time Rudy was an avid coin collector and gardener. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors going hunting and fishing. Above all he had a passion for racing; he began racing in the late 1950’s at Hatfield Speedway. Rudy was an active racer at Grandview Speedway from 1970 on. He was the president of Montgomery County Quarter Midget Race Club (formerly Phoenixvil­le Quarter Midget Club) from 1991 to 1999.

Rudy was also heavily involved with Upper Salford Township where he was a former member of the Planning Commission and former Township Supervisor.

Rudolph is survived by his children: Rudolph D. Gular Jr. (Colleen), John T. Gular (C.K.), Kevin J. Gular (Jamie), Shawn L. Gular (Keven), Bryan S. Gular (Jennie), and Michael D. Gular (Lauren); 13 grandchild­ren; 4 step-grandchild­ren; 5 greatgrand­children; 1 step-great-grandchild; brother Richard Gular; Sister Gayle Gular Mariano (A.J.) and sister-in-law Diane Gular. Predecease­d by brother Robert Gular and sister Joan Gular.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 6 to 8 PM at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home 701 Derstine Ave. Lansdale PA 19446. The burial will take place at Mountain View Burial Park, Harding, PA on Saturday January 9, 2021 11:30 AM

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Rudy’s memory be made to Montgomery County Quarter Midget Race Club at MCQMRC PO Box 30 Phoenixvil­le, PA 19460.
