Locals honored by Maxwell Football Club
The Maxwell Football Club announced its 2020 Mini Max High School Award winners for Pennsylvania Thursday with 16 area players among the 68 selected from Districts 1, 3, 11 and 12.
Local awards winners are

Gozzard (Springfield-Montco), Micah Bootman (Upper Dublin) Stefano Nikolaou (Upper Merion), Ryan Schernecke (Upper Moreland) and Michael Fath (Wissahickon).
Players were nominated by their coaches during the 2020 season with the award evaluation including football performance, academics and community service.
“This year’s group of MiniMax winners were challenged by more than just their on-field opponents,” said Maxwell Football Club President Mark Dianno in the press release announcing the winners. “They had to contend with circumstances of the pandemic impacting their families, communities, schools, teachers, aca
demics, practices, coaches, and games; yet they consistently rose to meet those challenges and performed extraordinary feats on the fields, in their classrooms and in their respective communities. “

Club will select one of the 68 Mini Max winners as winner of the Pennsylvania Player of the Year, which will be announced on Monday, Jan. 25.
Winners of the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware Player of the Year awards are candidates for the club’s Jim Henry Award as Outstanding Player in the region. The Jim Henry Award will be announced
on Monday, Feb. 1.
