Margaret “Peg” Scheid
Margaret “Peg” (Rothenberger) Scheid, 103, formerly of Worcester, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, at the Peter Becker Community where she has lived for many years. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Scheid who passed away in 2006.
Born October 12, 1917, in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Alvin K. and Helen (Moyer) Rothenberger. Mrs. Scheid was a graduate of Norristown High School class of 1935, and continued her education earning her Bachelors in Music Education from West Chester University.
Mrs. Sheid was a teacher at the former Spect School in Kulpsville, Montgomery Township Elementary, and Wissahickon Elementary, from 1939, until her retirement in 1977. She was the Director of Music at Norristown Schwenkfelder Church, the Unitied Schwenkfelder Choir, and enjoyed playing the piano. Mrs. Sheid was a former member of the Peter Wentz Historical Society where she was a docent for many years. She was a former member of the Norristown Octave Club, and the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Museum.
Mrs. Sheid enjoyed traveling most of the United States, collecting art, and glass, particularly glass candle sticks. She enjoyed reading, and was a contributor and writer for the Worcester History Published in 1976 and the Rothenberger genealogy published in 1990.
She is survived by her daughter Helen E. Edinger and her husband, Ronald, of Vancouver Island British Columbia; her sister Helen Louise Reitz; her grandchildren John Edinger, and Andrew Edinger.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her infant daughter Kathryn Louise Scheid, and her brothers, Alvin K. Rothenberger, Jr., and Robert M. Rothenberger.
