Until this announcement I had not heard of Pitbull.

I guess that has to do with turning 79 tomorrow. GRAMMY® Award-winning global superstar Pitbull has become a co-owner of Trackhouse Racing.

Ready to change the game, he and founder/co-owner Justin Marks plan to amplify the sport’s influence around the world.

Taking the first step, Trackhouse Racing makes its muchanticipated debut in the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro at the Daytona 500 on Feb. 14 with Daniel Suarez behind the wheel. The Monterrey, Mexico native notably stands out as “the only foreign-born national series champion in NASCAR history.”

“I’ve been a fan of the NASCAR story since the movie ‘Days of Thunder,’” said Armando Christian Perez (Pitbull). “As soon as I met Justin, Ty Norris (team president) and Daniel, we were on the same page. They welcomed me aboard, and now we’re going to show the world NASCAR is not only a sport but it’s a culture. This is an amazing way to celebrate my 40th birthday, so Get Ready! Dale! (Dah-lay)”

In addition to his role with Trackhouse and numerous other ventures, Pitbull will be attending the Daytona 500 on Feb. 14.

The 2021 Rapid Tire, USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series, Presented by Capitol Renegade schedule is bigger and better than ever with 32 events across the northeast, in five different states.

Valley Forge Inc. is again returning as the sponsor for the series Speedweek which will again kick off on July 1st at the Orange County Fair Speedway. The series returns to action the next night at the Big Diamond Speedway on July 2nd, before returning to the New Egypt Speedway on July 3rd. Added to this seasons

schedule will be the series’ first ever visit to Action Track USA in Kutztown, PA for the final night of Speedweek on Wednesday July 7th. All events during Speedweek will also pay $300 to start thanks to Valley Forge Inc. and Bill Gallagher.

Three new tracks will be on the series schedule, the first of which being the all new Bloomsburg Fair Speedway where the series will see action alongside two different midget series. The first stop being on May 29th with ARDC, then again with the USAC National Midgets on August 6th. The series makes their debut alongside the 600cc micro sprints at Action Track USA on July 7th, leaving many series drivers with a great double duty opportunity.

The final new track will be the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex on October 17th. This will be a big weekend for the series as it will be the second of a two day swing in Southwestern PA. The weekend will kick off with a special Saturday show on October 16th at the Bedford Speedway, before heading to Roaring Knob on Sunday. Both shows will be special events paying $2,000 to win, and $300 to start!!

For local fans Grandview Speedway has them on May 15th.

The General Motors

brand swept the top-10 spots in the annual list of the most purchased NASCAR diecasts published annually by Lionel Racing. Chase Elliott took eight of the 10 spots with Jimmie Johnson and Bubba Wallace taking the other two.

The list was bookended by the cars Elliott took to victory lane in the final two races of the season at Martinsville and Phoenix in route to capturing his first championship. The car he took to victory lane in the All-Star Race at Bristol with the experimental paint scheme with the numbers pushed back is also included.

The Truck Series entry Elliott piloted at Atlanta when claiming the bounty placed on Kyle Busch also made the list as did the Cup Series Hooters Give a Hoot livery.

The second most sold diecast of the season was the throwback paint scheme piloted by Jimmie Johnson in the Southern 500. That design paid homage to the other members of the seven-time Cup Series champions’ club in Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt.

The #BlackLivesMatter paint scheme raced by Bubba Wallace at Martinsville moved the third-most number of collectible diecasts.
