$1.6 million in contracts approved
NORRISTOWN » Montgomery County leaders authorized a series of contracts totaling more than $1.6 million during a board meeting last week.
The approved contract awards and amendments presented during the Jan. 21 meeting would provide services to a variety of county departments ranging from assets and infrastructure to health and human services.
Of the approved awards, the most costly contract was designated as a $308,672.88 agreement with Traffic Planning & Design Inc., of Lower Pottsgrove, for construction inspection services as part of a bridge replacement
project in Lower Moreland Township.
The Fetters Mill Road bridge, which is located over Pennypack Creek in Bryn Athyn, was spotlighted through the transportation improvement program, according to the contract. The initiative is expected to use federal funding to limit costs associated with the project.
A $292,780.98 one-year contract with Infor (US), Inc., of Alpharetta, Georgia, would cover maintenance services for the county’s financial system, which requires Lawson Software. The contract for the cloudbased maintenance will begin on March 14 and remain valid through valid March 13, 2022, according to the agreement.
A $279,665 agreement between the county’s Information and Technology Solutions Department with ePlus Technologies, Inc., of King of Prussia, would cover “augmentation services for the countywide computer rollout program.”
According to the agreement, the services are available through a contract from the General Services Administration.
A $135,000 one-year agreement was approved between the county’s human resources department and KMRD Partners, Inc., of Warrington for commercial insurance brokerage services.
The Bucks County-based company specified assistance with the”county’s property, casualty, fidelity bond, general liability, umbrella and other insurance coverages.”
Officials previously issued a request for proposals online, which was viewed by 26 companies, and six firms submitted a bid for the contract, according to the agreement.
In other business, county leaders allocated $36,126 for a new contract as well as an amendment to an existing agreement for the ongoing Montgomery County Justice Center project.
A $33,910 contract with Integrated Security Systems LLC., of Harleysville, would provide “security services” for “access control and security hardware to 10 doors related to the One Montgomery Plaza sixth Floor Courtroom project.”
The equipment and installation of the services are available by way of the PA Costars program, according to the contract.
The county’s assets and infrastructure department requested another $2,216 for “the preparation of door frames for electrical striking,” according to the contract. The previously approved $54,325 contract covered “an integrated access control system for the 15 doors and 10 cameras in One Montgomery Plaza for the Temporary Court Room project.”
The updated agreement figure now stands at $56,541.
The next Montgomery County Board of Commissioners is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 4.
