Polin scores 22, UD girls roll past Methacton

Upper Dublin girls basketball’s Jess Polin knocked down five 3-pointers in scoring a game-high 22 points while the Cardinals blew out the game in the third quarters as they cruised to a 65-30 nonleague victory over Methacton Wednesday.

Geena Sarnoski and Dayna Balasa each connected on three triples, Sarnoski finished with 13 points while Balasa had nine points for UD (18-3, 8-2 SOL Liberty), which won its second straight.

The Cardinals led 32-20 at halftime then outscored the Warriors 20-4 third to go up 28.

Mairi Smith had a teambest nine points for Methacton (14-5, 12-2 PAC Liberty), which lost its second straight.

Souderton 44, CR North 18 >> Souderton jumped out to a 12-1 lead after a quarter then finished Wednesday’s game by shutting out Council Rock North 8-0 in the fourth as the Indians snapped a five-game losing streak.

Casey Harter paced Souderton (7-8) with gamehigh 13 points. Teya McConnaha and Erin Bohmueller added nine and eight in the points, respective­ly.

PW 37, Pope John Paul II 32 >> Anna McTamney and Erin Daley both scored eight points as Plymouth Whitemarsh (15-1, 10-0 SOL Liberty) bounced back from its first loss of the season to earn a nonleague win over Pope John Paul II.

MaST Charter 42, Dock Mennonite 21 >> Bellinda Leisner led Dock Mennonite with 12 points while Kenzie Derstine had five steals for the Pioneers.

MaST held a 22-15 lead at the break before outscoring Dock 12-2 in the third. Boys Basketball Upper Moreland 55, Wissahicko­n

47 >> Upper Moreland’s Jourdan Gregg scored 19 points as the Golden Bears (13-3, 8-2 SOL Freedom) beat Wissahicko­n for their fourth win in a row.

Matt Compas had 17 points for Wissahicko­n (1210, 6-4 SOL Liberty).

Upper Dublin 70, Chester Charter 55 >> Drew Stover went for 33 points as Upper Dublin caps its regular season with a nonleague road victory over Chester Charter.

Colin O’Sullivan and DJ Cerisier each added 12 points for the Cardinals (119, 5-5 SOL Liberty).
