Dwight Galt, Penn State’s strength and conditioning coach, said he expects “a very interesting fireworks show” when Micah Parsons and Jayson Oweh test at the Nittany Lions’ pro day March 25.

Parsons, an All-American linebacker as a sophomore in 2019, opted out of the 2020 college season. He’s projected to be taken in the first half of the first round of the NFL draft in late April.

He’s been working out in California along with Oweh, a defensive end who declared for the draft after being named an AllBig Ten first-team selection as a junior last year. Oweh has been projected to be drafted anywhere from late in the first round to the third round.

“They’ve been trained by the same guys,” Galt said Thursday during a conference call with Penn State beat writers. “It’s been great for the two of them. I think

it’s going to be a very, very interesting fireworks show when they start testing.

“Both of them, as we all know, are incredibly gifted athletically. …I think Jayson and Micah are both going to test extremely well.”

Galt said eight draft-eligible Penn State players will test for NFL scouts later this month. One of them is former Exeter standout Michal Menet, a three-year starter at center for the Nittany Lions. ESPN’s Mel KIper Jr. said earlier this week that he projects Menet to go in the third or fourth round.

“Mike Menet is one of the more athletic offensive linemen that we’ve had since I’ve been here at Penn State,” Galt said. “It’s going to be a really good day for us, so we’re really excited.”
