Commissioners OK $1.8M in contracts
NORRISTOWN >> Local leaders authorized a series of contracts totaling approximately $1.8 million during the April 1 Montgomery County Board of Commissioners meeting.
The dozen contract awards, amendments and renewals spanned several departments including assets and infrastructure, public safety and information and technology solutions.
A big ticket item presented during the April 1 meeting was renewing an existing roads and bridges consulting agreement with McCormick Taylor, of Exton. The six-figure contract, not to exceed $720,000, covered advisory services, allotted for a one-year term with “one remaining optional annual renewal.”
A $316,446, three-year contract with Pinnacle Integrated Systems, Inc., of Malvern, covered
“voice and data cabling services.”
The Montgomery County Information and Technology Solutions Department previously issued an online request for proposals, which was viewed by 60 companies, and netted nine responses, according to the contract award.
The department recommended the Chester County firm as the “lowest responsible bid.” There’s also a contingency for “two optional annual renewal terms,” according to the contract award.
A $287,476 one-year agreement between the county’s IT department and Microsoft provides for a “Microsoft premier support agreement,” which includes “assistance and support for problems encountered while using Microsoft products.”
The services took effect March 25 and will continue through March 24, 2022, according to the contract award.
Technology officials also sought to amend an existing contract with Eastern Business Software Inc., of Media, for 2021. The $111,150 agreement provided for “two additional technical contractors” for the mobile technician and help desk operator positions as part of a countywide computer roll-out.
Additionally, the Montgomery County Purchasing Department and Staples Contract and Commercial Inc., of Framingham, Massachusetts, entered into a $145,000 one-year agreement. The contract stipulated that various county sectors would receive office supplies on an as needed basis. Officials had “requested to use a Sourcewell cooperative contract to purchase office supplies,” the contract states.
The next Montgomery County Board of Commissioners meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. on April 15.
