Wilmer “Will” Garis, Jr.

Wilmer “Will” Detweiler Garis, Jr. aka Pop G, 78, of Perkasie, PA; formerly of Souderton, PA went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

He was born in Souderton, PA to the late Wilmer D. Garis, Sr. and the late Dorothy M. (Wismer) Garis and was preceded in death by his son, Will-Ashley Garis and his brother, Glenn Garis.

With a silver tongue and love for socializing, Will realized at an early age that being a salesman was the life for him and he used that passion to build and operate Keller’s Poultry and Garis Foods, Inc. for over 40 years.

At a time when most people are thinking of retiring he went on to work for T. L. Gross and Co. in Perkasie, PA., where he worked as a salesman until his passing, because, as he has said “What else would I do?”

But while Will loved his work, he loved his God and his family even more and enjoyed going to the beach, reading in the park, sharing a good meal with his family and ending the perfect day by playing an entirely too competitive game of Uno.

He was larger than life. He always had a joke, a big smile, a warm hug. He was always positive, optimistic and persevering. He was a father, a brother, an uncle, a friend and a father figure to many.

He was so loved and will be greatly missed by his children, Carrie and her husband Troy, Denise, John and his wife Christina, Karen and her husband Brad and Cynthia; his grandchildren - Corinne, Zackary, Jaydon, Roman and Rocco; his great-grandaugher Myla; and all of his siblings, Doris and her husband Lin, John and his wife Donna, Lois and her husband Jake and Joe and his wife Darlene.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Hopewell Christian Fellowship, 601 Hunsicker Road, Telford, PA 18969 from 9:00am – 11:00am, with a funeral service at 11:00am, followed by a private burial service. A reception, open to all, will begin at 1:00pm at Poppa Joe’s Grove, located behind the Sellersville Fire Department, 2 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.
