Dowell, Dock rally for victory

DOCK 8, RENAISSANC­E ACADEMY CHARTER 7 » The Pioneers rallied for the win on Friday. Dock came to bat in the bottom of the 6th inning down 7-4 to Renaissanc­e Academy, Trinity Landis started the rally with her 2nd hit of the day, followed by Kaci Alderfer's 3rd single of the day. Then RBI singles from Jocelyn Pfleiger, Melissa Moyer, and Maggie Dowell gave Dock the 8-7 lead. Dowell closed out the game striking out the three batters in the top of the 7th, giving her 11 strikeouts for the game. Dock travels to Mast Charter on Monday to play them for the 2nd time this year. POTTSGROVE 4, PJP II 2 » A four-run third inning outburst was enough from her offense for Pottsgrove softball pitcher Mikayla Eckman in a 4-2 victory at Pope John Paul II Friday.

Elizabeth McAllister (2for-4) had an RBI single and Avery Gleason blasted a tworun triple in the Falcons' big inning.

Eckman allowed eight hits but kept the Golden Panthers at bay multiple times to allow only two runs while striking out five and walking one.

Counterpar­t Dani Dare of PJP navigated the Falcons' lineup well outside of the third inning, allowing seven hits and only two earned runs with seven strikeouts and two walks.

Justine Fretz was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Pottsgrove, which improved to 3-2 in the PAC Frontier (4-4 overall).

Multi-hit days were also turned in by PJP's Alex DiCampello (triple, 2-for-4, RBI) and Kelsey Bryant (triple, 2-for-4, RBI), who drove in a run in the seventh before Eckman ended the threat on a comebacker to end the game. PJP dropped to 2-3 in the Frontier (2-4 overall).

METHACTON 7, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 2 » Riley Kairer and Serena Goodridge swung big bats for the Warriors in Friday's PAC Liberty win over the Vikings.

Kairer went 3-for-4 with a double, homer and two RBI. Goodridge finished 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBI. Paige Deal tossed a complete game for Methacton, giving up three hits, a walk and striking out six.

Serena Crovetti and Josie Strechay hit solo homers to score PV's two runs. UPPER PERKIOMEN 16, UPPER MERION 1 » With eight-run outbursts in two of three atbats, the Indians made quick work of the Vikings in Friday's PAC Frontier Division game.

Dani Freer drove in four runs on 2-for-3 batting that included a triple, and Sierra Fretz had three RBI during a 3-for-3 showing with two doubles. Jenna Sullivan added a 3-for-4 outing to help UP end the game after three innings on the 15run rule and make a winner of pitcher Taylor Croak, who limited UM to three hits while striking out five.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 4, METHACTON 1 » Scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth Friday, the Vikings pulled away from the Warriors and went on to win this matchup of PAC Liberty Division rivals.

Jake Stasyk drove in two of PV's runs off 2-for-3 hitting highlighte­d by a double. Dom Miceli drove in another run to support Andrew McGowan's five-hit, seven-strikeout pitching through six innings.

Freshman Bobby Kleckner had a pair of hits for Methacton and Mario D'Adessi tripled. Graham Halfpenny went the distance on the mound in the loss, allowing three earned runs on five hits.

POTTSGROVE 4, POPE JOHN PAUL II 3 » Steven Rinda's two-RBI single in the bottom of the seventh gave the Falcons a walk-off PAC Frontier win over the Golden Panthers on Friday. Trailing 3-1 entering its final at-bat, Pottsgrove plated three runs to come away with the win.

Rinda had a 2-for-3 day at the dish and also tossed a complete game, not allowing an earned run and giving up just two hits and no walks while striking out nine. John Ryan McMenamin (double) drove in the Falcons' other two runs.

Matt Kossey tossed 4.2 strong innings for PJP, allowing one run on two hits. BOYERTOWN 14, NORRISTOWN 0 » Cole Hertzler and Tyler Sharayko combined to no-hit the Eagles in a PAC Liberty Division game marked by the Bears drawing 11 walks.

Trey Yesavage drove in four runs off a pair of doubles, and Hertzler plated three in a 2-for-2 outing highlighte­d by a double. On the mound, Hertzler struck out nine and yielded just one walk in three frames while Sharayko fanned four in his two-inning stint.

Boys lacrosse

SOUDERTON 11, CR SOUTH 8 » Tyson Bui scored four goals and Jamison McDivitt added five assists as the Indians rallied for the win on Friday. Ty Quintois added two goals and one assist, while John Martin Vince scored two goals for Souderton. Luke Wawrzynek won 15 faceoffs to lead the charge and goalie Matt Malanga made 10 saves on the day. INTERBORO 12, POPE JOHN PAUL II 11 » Even with the prolific scoring power of Luke Sykes and Connor Gucwa, the Golden Panthers fell short of Interboro in Friday's PAC game.

Sykes had five goals and two assists while Gucwa finished with four goals and one assist. Ambrose Collilouri added two goals and two assists, Shane Flynn (two) and Cole Miller had other assists and Sean Fallon had five goalkeeper saves. DEVON PREP 19, WOOD 12 » Dan Divitta scored seven goals, while Nick Citrigno and Aiden Boyle each added two apiece for the Vikings in a losing effort on Friday.

JENKINTOWN 7, UPPER MORELAND 4 » Isabel Leiter, Oliva Meakim, Charlotte James and Willow Taylor scored for the Golden Bears on Friday.

Boys tennis

METHACTON 7, UPPER PERKIOMEN 0 » The Warriors made a clean sweep of the singles bracket, winning all matches 6-0, 6-0 on the way to Friday's PAC victory over the Indians.

Methacton's third-doubles team of A.J. Schneider and Ethan O'Brien also won 6-0, 6-0, joining singles reps Jeff Cooper, Darren Brady and Akash Suresh. UP's best showing was fourth doubles, where Elias Brendle and Evan Bosler forced their duel with Methacton's Avery Garber and Gavin Jacobs to a tiebreaker. BOYERTOWN 5, POPE JOHN PAUL II 2 » A sweep of the doubles matches was key to the Bears handling the Golden Panthers in Friday's PAC match.

Boyertown was headed by the 6-0, 6-0 results from the doubles teams of Brett McMenamin/Chris Cossa annd Luke Brisbois/Jake Boughter in the third and fourth slots, respective­ly. PJP's points came from Tommy Rutkowski at first singles and A.J. Mares at third singles.
